Came here for the first time and was not impressed, first the soda was flat and had a weird taste to it. My boyfriend got a tuna roll, and it looked really weird, some had dark spots and some were light and he says tasted unusually fishy. My avocado rolls were extremely chewy. Bad experience all in all. Was gross. I hate wasting money on bad food when you are hungry. Almost was like grocery store rolls. Just not good.
I called today (Mothers Day) trying to place a carry-out order. I called as soon as they opened hoping to beat the rush. The lady who answered the phone was extremely impatient. I ordered 2 items off the menu on their website. Turns out their website menu was not up-to-date and they didn't even know what I was talking about. The lady who answered my call offered some options which I didn't understand (like "rolls for 2 people" and I didn't know what rolls were being offered), and I asked for more details. She became very impatient and eventually hung up on me. She sounded very busy which was totally understandable given it was Mother's Day. But in my opinion being rude to the customer and hanging up was still not an acceptable way to treat someone. I won't be calling them in the future.
The quality of fishes are the worst in the area. The prices are ridiculously high for the quality of food that they provide. I almost threw up in my mouth after I tasted a fish with a horribly bad odor. I never went back. It used to be okay before the pandemic but they fell off the Earth after the pandemic.
Food wise, very delicious as well as beautiful food presentation; however, the appearance of the place has changed significantly on the negative sise. This restaurant used to look very presentable and appealing for dining-in, almost romantic, but now it looks like any standard delivery-focused restaurant. It is not representative of Japanese quality.
I have done takeout from sushi Yoshi over a dozen times and the quality is always great. I've had every roll on their menu and each roll is better than the last. I had the opportunity to eat at the restaurant and dine outside. The service and the food quality was stellar.I get takeout sushi every week and have been doing so for the last 10 plus years in Northern Virginia. Sushi Yoshi is one of my favorite restaurants. The fish quality is amazing and super fresh and their rice is perfect. When dining in, I recommend getting the Vegas roll (it's deep fried) and delightful when still piping hot.The only things that are not great is that they close at 8 pm and don't have online ordering so you may need to call them about a dozen or more times to finally get through to someone to place an order if doing takeout.
Here goes my first google review.AVOID! It used to be one of the best sushi in town, but after the management change, it’s one of the worst in town.Bad service, bad food, bad atmosphere. My husband and I ended up having an upset stomach and had diarrhea all day. We eat sushi all the time but never had a stomach ache.- 4 types of sushi- Not fresh at all (dry, discolored, fishy), not a sushi rice and didnt even bother to season it properly- Kara age- wrong part of chicken, extremely tough- Unaju (Eel w/ rice)- Tiny portions of eel, lots of rice. Again, even rice tastes bad (no texture, no flavor. Rice cooker does the work. How is this possible to make it this bad?)Should’ve read recent reviews before coming in. Just like many other long time customers have stated in their reviews here, I’m not coming back.
Been coming here for over 14 years and the food has always been great. Sashimi Rice Crepe is my favorite and only found here. However, the sanitation of the restaurant has taken a turn for the worse. My table and the tables around me smelled like they had been wiped with the same rag that hadn't been washed for a month. The smell if I had to describe it would be old laundry that had been missed for a few laundry days just fermenting. But still the food is great and it seems they do more business as carryout and I can see why locals would do so.
Lunch chirashi is still good portion and good price.
The lunch menu is awesome and price is good. I recommend Chirashi if you like sashimi.
