Great Chinese dishes and even better sushi. Affordable and fresh sushi that beats most of the places in Nova. Regularly run coupons for 10% off which just make it even better.
The food is good, but just had an awful experience today. I was alone and waiting for my takeout order and immediately a staff member started lurking and whistling very loudly. I think he was watching me. It was like he was trying to draw attention to me, a black man. After my food came, I grabbed my bag, and tried to leave. There was somebody blocking the door and they were actually in the way on my way out!! Outrageous. I called back to complain, but the female manager played dumb, and laughed. I guess they don’t want black people in this restaurant. Merrifield is a very white area, and I believe I experienced micro aggressions while here today. I bet they would have bent over backwards for me had I been white… smh.
Sushi is great! Been coming here a few times over the last couple years and drinks are great as well. Actually ordering some tonight for my partner and I lol but since we were here not too long ago decided to leave a new updated review. Order to go last time and it took them a little over 10 min to prepare 3 rolls (: I recommend for sushi for sure.
Have ordered takeout from here many times, but recently we got food poisoning from the sushi. We used to like this place, but will not order from here again since the food made us so sick.
Sushi was good - we tried the spicy tuna, philly, and Redskin rolls. Miso soup and ginger salad were basic staples. Fried rice wasn't bad - definitely needed the soy sauce. Their soy sauce was great! Only gave three stars because the Thai Spicy Basil Chicken was disgusting! So slimy and obviously frozen. Absolutely nothing like a fresh Thai dish. Play it safe...just order sushi.
I ordered the spicy tuna for lunch (I thought it was very good) and the steak hibachi (ehh so so, have had better and worse) to take home for supper. I get to the last bite of the salad that came with the steak hibachi and bit down on a used metal staple ?? I will NEVER order from here again ?
This is my second time coming here. Both times have been disappointments. The first time, I got hibachi chicken, and I got thai basil chicken this time. The taste was good both times, but both of my meals barely had any chicken at all. It was just filled with vegetables. For how much this meal costs, they don't give nearly enough meat. I ended up disappointed and unsatisfied with the meal both times. Would not recommend coming here unless they reduce the amount of veggies and add more chicken - at least make it appropriate to the price of the meal. I felt scammed each time.
My co-workers and I ordered a few things under the same order. We placed it online. "A" ordered the spicy combo roll, "B" ordered a rainbow roll, and I ordered a black dragon roll. Mine and B's order was placed in one box, so my co-worker thought it was part of their order. It was not until they finished that they noticed the easily missed writing on top cover that our rolls were put together. Just because several items are under the same order, do not assume certain things should be contained together unless mentioned with special instructions (which we did not even specify). If that was the case, why not just put everything onto one platter? You can image how disappointed I was for the whole shift last night. I do not have any confidence to order from here again.
One of my go to sushi places! I wish they had a few more special roll options, but everything I’ve had is amazing.
This place is a classic! There is really not much to not like about it for me. If I wanted anything to be different, I'd say I wish it was packed at full capacity like it was before the covid outbreak.
