As a former employee, all I can say is that the managers here treat the employees horribly. Not only were multiple rules broken, but the managers had extremely unstable tempers when we were unable to complete tasks that we either did not have time to do, or were not told/taught to do. My coworkers and I (15) sometimes had to close the store alone (labor laws say we are not allowed to work past 7, I have gone home past 10:30 on many occasions). Once I even explained that my parents were waiting outside for about 30 minutes, and I was still not allowed to leave (past when my shift ended). Not only this, we would get literally yelled at (both in person and through the phone) when we weren't "fast enough", also on multiple occasions they would be unreasonably upset at us through our group chat. The managers also failed to recognize that the majority of their workers are high school students, who do tend to have lives beyond working for Cold Stone. They would constantly get upset at us for not being able to work certain nights, and would schedule us for days we specifically said we were not able to work (and later threaten us about firing when we explained we could not make it). Along with this, from my experience the inside of the store is extremely unsanitary. Another bad experience I have, which has been reviewed about before, is when me and another employee (both of us had been working less than a month and were 15) were required to close together, and the drain was flooding causing the floors to be flooded. The managers both were repeatedly calling us, telling us to "go faster" and that we were acting "unacceptable" when the two of us alone had to manage a Friday night filled with online orders, and even more customers in person. I just do not at all think teenagers should be genuinely afraid of their manager yelling at them or firing them over simple mistakes which can be fixed very easily, this place is poorly run.

I ordered two ice creams from Cold Stone Vienna for curbside pickup 30 minutes before we were planning to arrive. Said it would be ready about 7:47 PM. When we arrived at 8:00 PM (later than expected) I called the store and the guy took my name and car and said “It’ll be right out.” 15 minutes go by and nothing came out. So we called the store again. The same guy who answered had NO idea what was going on, and said he couldn’t find our order. So what’s been going on the last 15 minutes?! I was getting upset, I asked them how I could just get my money back and he said, “just come in the store, I can make it for you” I told him no and that I wasn’t feeling well. Key reason WHY we ordered curbside in the first place. He asked again for our name and then after 5 minutes of trying to figure everything out, they said they would be right out. Another 10 minutes go by and finally our order comes out. NO lids and everything served inside the waffle cones (which were supposed to be on the side because it was a togo order). We were just frustrated and wanted to leave, I was NOT feeling well and I needed to get home. Then the guy said sorry for the confusion with the online order, which we appreciated, but we were still frustrated. The reason we chose this location was because we ordered from the noodles and company next door. We live in NW DC and we had a 30 min drive back home. The ice creams were already soft and we ended up throwing the ice creams away 2 minutes after we left the store because it started to melt all over my hands because I had to hold it while my partner drove. We have a brand new car too so as soon as it started dripping onto my pants I was done. Not to mention they gave us the wrong order for one of the ice creams!I feel completely ripped off. Over 30 minutes of waiting for nothing. Not to mention, the 30 minute drive it took to get there AND the 30 minute drive back. We’ve been to this location before and have had problems with “confusion” on our orders. I want to be refunded for my order. I know Friday nights are busy and the season is getting warmer, so I understand that not everything will run smoothly. But I hate wasting money, especially when $20 is just thrown out. Sure some people will say, “it’s just ice cream” but when you’re not feeling well and it’s the one thing you’ve been craving AND you spend money on it, it’s very frustrating.

Non-hygienic and rude staff.. they don't wear masks, which might be ok nowadays, but they have so much fun talking to each other while they make icecreams, I am very certain the icecreams contain their saliva.

this is the second time i've ordered icecream here and not gotten all of the toppings i paid for. employee also argued with me about the fact i didnt explicitly ask for spoons in my mobile order.

Nice store, good flavors, but the outside seating was a bit dirty.

Recently ordered a custom cake for my son’s birthday. The cake was divine - thick layers of rich creamy ice cream alternating with delicious vanilla cake. With mix-ins, y’all! While delicious, the cake wasn’t made exactly as we requested. My son was a little bummed. I spoke with Nash who runs the Vienna location and he went above and beyond to make things right. We happily ordered a second cake, this time for my daughter’s birthday. Not only did Nash personally take care of the cake to ensure it was made correctly, but he also threw in a generous discount. Thank you, Vienna Cold Stone!

During my visit to Vienna town, I stopped by this shop. It was clean, ice cream was delicious, customer service was excellent. I would love to stop by again when I get there one day.

Went there near closing hours. Nice ice cream. They ended up making a larger scoop so put it in a larger cup but charged for like it only.Parking was easily available.

I trained here for probably around a total of 18 hours, and was paid $8, which was only tips. Nash, the owner, shames other trainees when they are not perfect, and shows no initiative to help them get better. From hearing a grown man like himself call a former worker (a 13 or 14 year old girl) “stupid” is just a touch of the bad experiences I had training at Cold Stone. I know plenty people who worked there and have the same opinions as me. Awful business.

My daughter left her wallet with credit cards and driver’s license in it at store, she called places and could not find it, a few days later, the store manager and staff sent her wallet to our house. Really appreciated it.
