Yeah, the young lady at the counter is a little antisocial over the phone and in person lol. It didn't make me feel any type of way though. Food was pandemic-pricey ($10 with tax for the combination plate you see here which included an egg roll). The entree tasted great. The egg roll was small and looked burned or refried but it was good too (ate it before I could snap a pic lol). She quoted me to be ready in 10 minutes. I walked in a little later and the order was still piping hot. Grab your sauce(s), napkins and utensils on your way out the door. None of that was included in my bag. Soda selection was skimpy. Not sure who their beverage supplier/distributer is but Food Lion is right next door lol. They're definitely in my lunch/dinner rotation when I'm in this neck of the woods.
Shun Xing Chinese Restaurant9128 Godwin Blvd SuffolkI went in to place an order. I noticed a flag was blocking view of the kitchen and this peaked my curiosity. As I looked, two gentlemen were in the kitchen preparing orders. I noticed no gloves or handwashing between handling various meats and products from the refrigerator to the pan to the packaging . This alarmed me so I got one gentlemens attention and the conversation is below." excuse me, has my order been started "" almost ready, ok"" I'm asking if it was started because I'd actually like a refund. I've noticed the two of you in the back handling hot/ cold foods and other products without gloves or handwashing between stations. So I'd really..."He walks away to go answer the phone and takes an order. Then he walks back to the kitchen and starts dropping food for the order he just took. Then, he starts placing food in a bag and brings it to me. All the while, he has worked in the front and the kitchen and still has not washed his handsWhen he brings my order to the counter I remind him that I have requested a refund. This time he huffs, and rolls his eyes and walks to the cash register. At this point I'm can see he's fustrated because he's talking to the other gentleman ( foreign language) and waiving his arms suggesting " I dont why"..I walk closer to the counter and say, if it helps, keep the money and the order, I won't be coming back and left.. this was my first time visiting this place because I'm new to the area and it was highly recommended by a friend.. not sure if anyone else had a similar experience but please be careful how ur food is prepared and where you spend your money matters..
I’ve ordered from here a few times over the years. Service at the front has always been friendly. Their prices have increased about a dollar an item over the past year, but that is understandable. The quality of their food has been average to good over the past few years, but I was very pleased with the quality of my last order which included Moo Goo Gai Pan, Hot and Sour Soup, House Special Chop Suey, Steamed Dumplings, and a few other entrees. I plan to order again from them in the near future.
We get food from this place often. Chicken with broccoli is great. Lomein was good. My husband loves to get general tsao here. No complaints. Always hot and delicious food.
First off they don’t deliver. After getting there to pick up the order I PAID for via debit card, I’m asked to show my driver’s license. I was fine with that at first because I thought it was a way to ensure that the right person was picking up the food. However, I noticed the woman writing down my drivers license number. Why the heck do you need my driver’s license number to pick up some rice??! Are you running a background check or am I getting food??! Then the rude Asian lady refused to give me the food I already paid for!!! All because I’m not comfortable giving my driver’s license number for absolutely NO reason at all!! Beyond horrible!! Would NOT recommend!!! Clearly they cared more about obtaining my personal information more than they cared about making money and wasting food ??♀️
Food was comparable to other take-out Chinese. The service has a long way to go. A screeching unintelligible woman speaking through a terrible speaker is ridiculous. Never a please or thank you from her at all. We will not order there again.
It's Chinese food. What more you want me to say
Steak Kew was on the online menu but they said they had never heard of it!
My order is always right and ready quickly. I highly recommend the sesame shrimp.
I've ordered many times from Shun Xing, but I was disappointed with my teriyaki chicken was very hard. Shrimp fried rice had the smallest shrimp and rice was hard. Even the egg rolls weren't good. I felt as though my money was a waist for that meal.
