We was traveling back from VA Beach and saw the reviews online about the restaurant. We arrived around lunch time on Saturday, review menu and I decided to tried the 4star Fried Herring with fried potatoes, 2 Very small 2inchs corn breadcakes,cost was$8.50. My spouse order pancake breakfast with cheese eggs,grits and turkey sausage. My fish was so dried out,you saw fish or taste no fish. Only over cook hard fish batter hat seemed old and dried out. Fish was suppose to be 2 pieces that was actually 1 small fish piece cut in half. Potatoes portion was the size for a child in a small cup that is actually use for a scoup of ice cream. Herring fish Not worth $1 nor the meal. Our Bill they charge extra 75cents for turkey sausage,extra 50 cents cheese and we each has a glass of water they charge $1(Really) water is usually given as a courtesy in 99%of restaurants. Never will go back ,I can't recommend. We was both disgusted.
The staff is very friendly and they want to make sure that you are having a good meal! The food is delicious too, I recommend the fried catfish.

From the moment us 9 walked in. We felt welcome.Quite a selection of food choices.I WAS hungry. And I over- ordered. Lol.Soup. Catfish dinner with salad and mashed potatoes.Very large Piece of lemon cake. 2 creme filled eggs.I ate my yummy catfish, mashed potatoes and took the rest home?When we are in the area we will return.Thanks so much for your great service.
My sister and I had lunch today Wednesday and the food was absolutely delicious..The lemon cake was like I WILL EAT MY DESSERT FIRST AND I DID...THE LIVER AND ONIONS WERE TO DIE FOR...CONNIE WAS SUPERB..THE STAFF AND CUSTOMERS MADE U FEEL WELCOME

Perfect spot. The staff was super friendly, polite and accommodating. And delightful meal. It was so good I had to buy a whole cake when I left. Thank you for a pleasant experience!
The chicken was fried in rancid oil and was very dry and devoid of any flavor. The string beans were bland and obviously served from a can after we were told they were fresh. We apprised the owner and the chef who both were arrogant and nonchalant about the quality of the food. We will NOT be back and would NOT recommend!
