We dined at Harper’s Table this evening, and while the food was excellent, the service was terrible. I was really surprised because in the past we have not had that issue. Our waitress was slow, didn’t refill drinks and left us for almost an hour without checking on us at all. For a place that is supposed to be upscale dining, I was very disappointed. We were celebrating a birthday and this wasn’t exactly what we had aimed for. I’m not sure we will be returning based in tonight’s experience.
Had the absolute best time with Andrea! Food was astonishing, my mom, grandma and big cousin were blown away by the quality and the homemade nature of it all. Becca was the bartender for the shift and STG each and every cocktail was made to perfection. 10 stars ⭐️
On 4/23/22 our small wedding party of about 16 people arrived at the restaurant for dinner. We had reservations mind you, there was an area setup for us in the front of the restaurant. Our waitress was very nice but the service was horrible. It took us about 2.5 hours to recieved our food even though we all order from the menu. We saw food constantly going by us to people that arrived after we did. I also found the manager to be very rude. And the icing on the cake was our group problems during check-outThe bills were all mixed up. I was charged $319.00 for a $104 bill. .I truly believe that our groupwhich was a minority was treated differently then the other customers there. My advice would be to avoid this restaurant if you area minority.

While we had just been to another restaurant in downtown Suffolk a week or so ago, we were surprised to notice so many other eateries in the same area (Thanks, Chris!). My wife, daughter and I stopped in early on a Tuesday - without a reservation - and were seated immediately! The service was great, food and drinks were VERY good!!! We had a burger, chicken and flounder. All were quite good! The "vibe" was quite good and they offered a few things that were unusual and good (pork belly biscuit, their own VERY tasty hot sauce - which we tried on everything, and excellent cooled beverage glasses for my Stellas). My adult daughter tried several cocktails that she said were excellent. While it's a lengthy drive from our Western Branch home, we'll be back!
Two months ago, I planned an evening for Valentine's Day that included dinner here and a stay at a nearly bed and breakfast. Imagine my surprise when two days prior to the reservation I received a call (from a server) that the restaurant was only offering a $100.00 fixed price menu per person. This is much higher than the normal menu. It was too late to change plans, so we went. However, they handled substitutions very poorly and the meal was definitely sub par. I want to be able to recommend this restaurant, but cannot.

We were looking for a local place for our date nights. This place doesn't disappoint. Love the interior design and the vibe was warm and welcoming. Quiet but not too quiet.Lovely options on the menu. They also have a full bar. I was glad the menu was not filled with deep fried dishes. Hard to find a place that makes their food with fresh wholesome ingredients.Their warm olive was delicious. That was a excellent appetizer with drinks. I ordered shrimp and grits and that's pbly the best one I have ever had. My husband was very happy with his pork entree. Proteins and vegetables are all perfectly done. Well seasoned, so much flavor, aroma, not overly salted, and fresh.We will definitely be back again.

Me and my friends were visiting from Arlington, VA. Stopped in for brunch this past Sunday. What a beautiful restaurant!! I love all the wood, lights, original brick, and artwork. The service was so friendly, made for such a wonderful experience. We started with the hushpuppies which were moist and delicious. The omelet I had was great and was a nice large portion. You have to try their signature cocktails! I mean I was blown away at how good the Apple Butter Old Fashioned was. What a perfect fall cocktail! Definitely going back the next time I am in Suffolk or anywhere near Norfolk for that matter.
