This place is beyond five stars. During the winter I always come here with my mom and get their hot soups. Their wonton soup is the best around here and their chicken. The portion sizes are perfect. Definetly recommend!
Good food. Very large menu selection
I've been here for lunch twice. Would be much more often if it were close to my home. The food is excellent. Lunch specials are a good deal:. Offers a discount on a score of the most popular dishes from the main menu, accompanied by a spring or summer roll. I have tried both the red curry chicken and the lemon chili chicken. Both first rate. I didn't find either too spicy, but you may not be as used to heat. Condiments on the table can zing things up. The ca phe sua da is more generous a serving than most Viet places, too. My only cavils are that the spring roll was smaller than usual (it tasted so good, I really wished it were bigger), and the single server was a long way away, which slowed down ordering and getting the check. Actual food service was quick, though. Almost a 5 star! 4.7 to 4.8. I'll be back.
Service is decent, food could use bigger portions. The chairs are in desperate need of new cushions. The carpet shows is never been cleaned. This place is in desperate need of a restaurant make over.

Love this place
Recently, their phone service has stopped working properly and just rings through. I order in person or online through a 3rd party when this happens. My family has been going to Saigon Cafe for 30 years. We had some weird experiences right after Cathy left, but no longer. Folks have their preferences for broth, and this one is my favorite. Their fried spring rolls are ??.
When I walked in I immediately wanted to walk right back out. This place is filthy, dingy, and smelly. I can only speak for the food I ordered, but I ordered the seafood veggie stir-fry and it tasted like sweaty socks. I cannot believe the prices for the quality of food. Also when I went to use the bathroom there was visible smoke in the air and I was choking in the cigarette fumes. The only redeeming thing about this place was the waitress, she was nice and helpful.
On a recent weekend afternoon, I stopped by the Saigon Cafe for a meal in the slow time between lunch and supper. When I entered the restaurant, there was one other table occupied. When I left, there were three other tables occupied. I like eating between peak dining periods as restaurant service typically then is very fast. I don't remember ever having eaten here before. As shrimp is my favorite seafood, I chose fried shrimp rolls as an appetizer and shrimp fried rice as my main course. I was brought water and, unusually for me, I chose to go with that as my beverage. The bill was under $20; with tip, I spent $25. The food arrived at my table piping hot, shrimp rolls first and then the shrimp fried rice a few minutes later. As I mentioned the service was fast. The 4 shrimp rolls were accompanied by a great-tasting dipping sauce. I would give that portion of my meal 5 stars. I ate those with my fingers and used the provided chopsticks to eat the accompanying vegetables. I then dug into a heaping plate of shrimp fried rice with my spoon. As I chewed, I detected what to me was an odd flavor - not a "bad" flavor but an "odd" flavor. After 3-4 mouthfuls, I recognized it as butter. The fried rice was prepared in a butter-based sauce. Now, lots of folks like butter-based sauces, butter on movie popcorn, butter on corn-on-the-cob, butter on toast, butter on sandwiches, and butter dip for their lobsters. Not me, though. I don't mind a little butter here and there, but it's not something I like to taste. So I spread out a portion of the fried rice on the plate and put a lot of pepper on it. That masked the butter flavor and I finished up the meal in that manner - eat, make space on the plate, spread out some fried rice, put lots of pepper on it, eat, and continue. There was LOTS of shrimp in the fried rice. I ate only 2-3 spoons full that did not have a shrimp in them. I was not surprised at the great quantity of food I received, but I was surprised at how full I felt when I finished. I guess this old guy's stomach is shrinking. Afterwards, I went grocery shopping - remembering that one is not supposed to grocery shop on an empty stomach. After I got home and put away the groceries, I had to get rid of the lingering butter taste, so I ate a few bite-sized cinnamon rolls and two small dark chocolate bars and washed them down with a cola product. With that sacrifice, I got rid of the lingering buttery taste. I will return to the Saigon Cafe. It is a short 10-minute drive from my home, and I liked the food. I will check next time to make sure I have a main course that does not contain so much butter. Extra garlic, fine. Extra soy sauce, fine. Extra butter, not for me.
First time eating here I ordered Pho. Wasn't bad, but I have had better. Ordered chicken fried rice last night and am paying for it today. Legit have been sick all morning. Food isn't bad here, but eat at your own risk :( I hate leaving this review since I love supporting small business, especially since Covid, but felt I needed to warn of my experience!
