I really enjoy eating here. Food is good and service is tops. Always a pleasant experience.
I’m giving y’all this because I miss the kind faces! Y’all have great food and are very rich with the orders! Fresh and hot as well as delicious…however…when people greet you and say thank you, it’s nice to greet them back and respond to the thanks instead of glare & make ppl feel unwelcomed. Unless y’all were mad that I’m doing take out? Idk I might just start going to Szechuan Star instead for my business bc they are good too and make me feel welcomed even if I’m just doing take out…idk been going to Hunan for 20+yrs and for sure in the recent times Y’all been very rude! I hope y’all are taking care of yourselves. I’m giving these 5 stars mainly for the food and raising the the store here bc the food is great, nice to be kind to those who give you biz for decades…
Please do yourself a favor and stay away. This is the worst Chinese restaurant i have ever been to. The plates are very old and dirty. They have no spoons, serving spoons are older than my great great grandmother. During dinner time, with half full, there was only one waitress who was struggling to keep up. Not her fault she is all ALONE. The owner should be ashamed of himself.
We have been ordering from Hunan West for 6 years. We have a family of 4 and I am a vegetarian. I always appreciated the large selection of vegetarian dishes at this restaurant. This past order was probably our last. For a second time, I found meat in my vegetarian tofu dish. One time could be an accident, two times and I feel they must have an overall quality control issue. We are moving onto another restaurant that has better understanding of what vegetarian means.
Ordered pan fried combination noodles which are supposed to be crispy and they were very spongy. Awful dinner. We called and they told us to go back to Duke Wo because we said we have had them there. Will NOT go back there!

I went in here today (Dec 23 2021) to order some carry-out. Gross!! The boss lady was on the phone facing away from me but facing all the plates and cups. She started coughing all over the plates for a full 3 minutes. I walked out and she was still spaying spit all over the bar and dishes.Beware .... Stay away....Didn't even mention she never even acknowledged me.
Food was really good! I had the Mongolian beef which I love and it was good! My friend enjoyed her food as well as my mother who wanted the same dish as my friend.
General Tsao and Thai Basil Fried Rice.. Bomb. Try it.
It took me a long time to find a good quality Chinese place after my favorite one closed down a couple years ago. Great portions that don't leave me feeling jipped. Great food. Amazing staff. Since I've ordered from them I've gone to them religiously!!! 10/10!!
