Really good Sichuan food! Tasty and spicy! Good soup dumplings and noodles!
First time visiting here, and will come back again. The chicken corn soup, salt pepper pork chop, and orange chicken were all delicious (although our youngest didn't like the soup or chicken, but loved the pork). First time ordering the cumin beef, and it was amazing.
Delicious dim sum. Flavor wasn't overbearing and the food wasn't oily. Definitely will be back and recommend.
Delicious assortment of Chinese food including dim sum (dim sum is available daily 11-3). In addition to dumplings, we had soup, Peking Duck wraps, and Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce.
Crabmeat and cheese wontons had no filling in them and the cold noodle dish is tasteless.
I can not believe that this place has a 4 star rating. It is absolute slop. I give it a rating of two stars since 1. the service was just okay & 2. the best part of my meal was the hot jasmine tea.
Hot Peppercorns in Springfield, VA was under a different name and maybe different management too, i stopped going there for over four years because the food was not good. Today i really wanted dim sum and all the usual places i don’t like anymore because their quality of the food had gone downhill. My favorite dim sum place “Fortunate” is closed. I was so happy to find Hot Peppercorns, i almost didn’t go in because i thought it was the old restaurant that i didn’t like. Thanks goodness i went in and so happy i was wrong, the flavors and quality of the food as i remembered dim sum to be and had in the past. I ordered a lot more dishes than shown in pictures. I hope they don’t change their flavors or lower their quality.
I usually love the food here. The have some dishes like Shanghai soup dumplings that are hard to find. I also find the specials very good interesting, like eggplant with the salty fish.I am making this 4 stars because today we ordered the sesame chicken and i think it got fried in oil that was used for fish. This made the chicken taste pretty bar. I hope the restaurant reads this review and takes this into consideration.
Would definitely recommend, Lots of wonderful vegetable dishes and fantastic sauces. One of the best dim sum restaurants in the northern VA area!
Same great Chinese food with many dim sum specialties you’ve come to expect but renamed to Hot Peppercorn under new management. Nothing disappointed from the roast duck, to the beef chow fun, fried spicy green beans along with the custard buns was amazing. The deep fried eggplant I will pass on next time but it was still good.
