This place was way more than I expected! I googled gluten free dining options in Springfield VA and the name made me giggle, so we gave it a shot. Everything (other than wheat buns) on the menu is gluten free and they also have tons of halal friendly options. YUUGE burgers, a lot of alcohol if that’s what you are in the mood for. We didn’t try the wings or fries but will be back. I definitely recommend the breakfast BLT with a patty- something about runny egg and bacon on a burger is just amazing.
I got the double with cheese as a salad and it was very tasty. The onion rings were great! Some of the best I’ve had. Hubby got a BLT and described it as good- ample cheese, well cooked. The fries were good, generous portions. I really liked the Bethany bar, but hubby wasn’t as big a fan. But I love paleo sweet treats and it hit the spot. The staff was very friendly and the food arrived hot and in short time. Clean restaurant with fun comic art on the walls. We’ll be back.
The Pow-napple Mojito was chill and tasty. Wedge of fresh pineapple is always a plus.The Seoul Mate burger was good, mostly due to the unique flavor experience. The actual burger meat was fine, but the toppings and bun were the stars. The standard fries are standard and well salted, I'd probably get something distinctive next time since they have options. Everything was very hot, so take out is definitely viable.If you're dining in be sure to hit up their free, multi-game arcade machine! It's definitely what bumped this up to 5 stars for me!
I ordered the mushroom burger it was pretty good. I got the double patty, it's good sized burger. I also got the spicy fries which are like masala fries, they were okay. My brother got the sweet potato fries and I liked those better.The interior is super clean with a lot of cool comic style art hung up on the walls. The cashier was also really friendly.The one thing I'll say is our order took a while to make, which they say is because everything is made fresh to order.Overall I'd say it's a good burger spot if you're in the area, especially if you're only eating halal, this burger is pretty good.
This is a relatively new burger joint in the plaza with Old Navy near Springfield Mall. They have halal burgers on the menu, but also serve bacon and alcohol. I don't eat strictly halal so it doesn't mean much to me but others may want to know. The decor inside is cute and the store is very clean. They have a range of burgers and sides. You order your food and then seat yourself where available. I found the prices to be a bit in the higher side. The burger was very underseasoned and dry/crumbly. The fries were decent but nothing with a wow factor. I came in with lower expectations given the halal part but even then left disappointed. My friend agreed she wouldn't come back either.
Ordered online, showed up when it said it was going to be ready!I got the Mushroom Meltdown, and she got the Cranky Chicken. Both sandwiches were delicious, juicy and flavorful. The sweet potato fries would be better if they were a bit crisper. Also, how about some milkshakes (maybe even alcoholic ?).Will be back!
This is an excellent burger joint with a funky, friendly vibe. Hubs and I stopped in—the bartender made a totally delicious Orange Julius cocktail and was very chatty and friendly. She really went out of her way to make us feel welcome. The burger was really, really good—we shared the mushroom one. They have lots of great options. We also had the wings. The wings were big, crispy and juicy. The sauce was good, but we will try other sauces next time. The seasoned fries were a little spicy, so if you can’t handle spicy stuff, then opt for another fries style. I loved them, but I adore spicy food. The place was clean, well-organized, and well-run. 10/10 recommend
Hangry Burger exceeded my expectations!!!! That is pretty difficult to do. I am gluten free and you never know when a restaurant says they are "gluten free" or "gluten friendly" what that really means - especially when they're frying foods. Well, at HB they take it seriously. I had the #3 on a gf bun and my man had the #5 on a regular bun. We also got the seasoned fries and eggplant fries. I was apprehensive about the eggplant fries but they were so delish. I have a couple minor recommendations... A dipping sauce for the eggplant fries. They didn't go well with ketchup or ranch IMHO. They were tasty on their own, but I like sauces. Also, I am absolutely obsessed with fried zucchini. That would be a good add to the menu, perhaps instead of the asparagus fries. Full disclosure, I didn't try the asparagus fries I just don't like asparagus. Lol. This place was clean. Service was friendly. And dessert was a BETHANY bar - think Snickers bar, but without peanuts and a million times better. I'm convinced this place was made just for me being gluten free and naming the dessert after me. Let's keep this place in business. Go here. It's amazing.
My daughter and I had an excellent lunch here. She loved that her burger was customizable for her 7 year old preferences. I liked that I had the option to turn my burger into a salad. Great, fun atmosphere. My daughter also loved the pac-man game machine that was free to use. We will definitely be back with the rest of the family and get a drink at the bar. Their cocktail menu looks awesome.
This place is amazing! The only thing better than the food is the staff! The artwork is amazing!! The food is gourmet quality and worth every penny. The premium craft cocktails are delicious! I love the retro game arcade. It brings so many memories. If you're looking for a personable experience with great quality food, Hangry Burger is the place to be!
