Absolutely everything was delicious, the price was right, and it was a delightful location. But the hoagie roll was sorta tough - hurt my aging jaw just eating it. I’d recommend opting for a sandwitch if you have some difficulty eating tough foods.
Killer breakfast sandwiches! Love to go here every time I'm downtown in the morning. Super friendly owners too!
Stop here for lunch frequently, great selection & service. The soup and half sandwich is always a hit.
Pork roll egg and cheese saltpepperketchup PERFECT!!! made me feel like I was home again in Jersey ❤️ really great rolls used as well I can’t wait to try more !
I went there for bagels; they bring in real bagels from New York. They gave me advice on how to best freeze and then warm them up. Won't need that advice because I started eating right after I left the store. The sandwiches looked great but I had to satisfy my bagel crave.
R.T. Smith’s is the bomb!! From all day breakfast to lunch sandwiches, my co-workers and I get to-go food at least once a week. We love Karena and Keith. They never disappoint!
Walked a mile across town to eat here at 11:30 am and everyone is casually standing outside watching a parade. Said they were closed until the parade is over. I guess I wasted my entire lunch break walking around downtown in 32 degree weather. I wouldn't eat here again if they paid for it. Next time Ill just go to texas tavern, they never disappoint.
Simply outstandingly sandwich. Best I've had in Roanoke, hands down.
*Great Customer service
I should have known-every eatery in downtown was packed but this place, but being hungry and hoping...we went in.Nice lady at counter. HORRIBLE food. Cold roast beef with fake theater-butter on it and ONE of the thinnest slices of cheese I've ever seen in 50+ years of living and eating.Sandwich One: Cold roast beef, no mayo, stone ground mustard, onion, lettuce, nothing but a bare pile of unseasoned meat on a stale role and one translucent thin piece of cheese. The bread was tough (not crusty), there were no chips or pickle (what deli doesn't include those?)Sandwich Two: UNtoasted grilled cheese with no golden warmth, cold, stale bread.ALL I could think of was the TV show Restaurant Impossible:1. CLEAN the place up. CLEAN, PAINT, GET CHAIRS OUT OF WINDOW, CLEAN WINDOWS, DUST THE STUPID PINBALL...CLEAN IT PEOPLE!2. Paint, get old, discarded chairs our of the window (valuable real estate to advertise).3. Take curled, faded menu taped to window off.4. Serve decent sandwiches with fountain drinks, a cookie, chips, SOMETHING. It was really, really bad. Really bad.
