Love the New Yorker have been eating there since I was a kid. Probably the best subs in the area, in my opinion. I really wish they would reopen the dining room, dining room or not the subs are awesome.
The New Yorker restaurant was great the only thing is you have to pay cash can't pay by debit card or credit card no machine or it's not working wanted to but then again this pandemic really messed up a lot of restaurants they're trying to get back on their feet because it's pandemic ruined a lot of restaurants I hope they can do it it's a great restaurant with great food I ordered some things but I had to go for takeout only you had to pay cash hopefully they said they'll get a machine to take debit cards and credit cards they'll get more business if they do that that's for sure
Excellent restaurant. My family is from out of town and love it here. Online says they are opened today 11-6 and so did the sign on the door but they are closed. They were very disappointed.
I lived in the Roanoke area for almost 21 years and to me the New Yorker Deli was a special place to me and my family. Now fast forward I've moved away and when I've come back to the Roanoke area I look forward to visiting this restaurant. My mother and I decided to come visit to New Yorker deli after a long day and just wanted to sit down and relax especially after driving hours to get to Roanoke. If you're looking for a place to sit down and relax this place is definitely not for you and you'll definitely encounter some rude customer service not only from the person who takes your order but also the person who hands out your order. When multiple people ask when they're going to open up their dining room they stated multiple times that they have no intention to opening up their dining room in the future. Which I concluded to being able to cut down staff and profit more money since they wouldn't have to pay for waitresses or waiters in the area. The food is still good but for me it's not going to be the same because I can't get the full menu nor the experience of eating at the restaurant. I understand covid hit pretty hard and hit a lot of restaurants hard in the area and they have no attention to opening the dining room, but if that's going to be your intention, the current staff should not be so rude to their customers that they do have coming into their store or maybe they should put picnic tables outside for customers who have nowhere else to eat and do not wish to eat in their car. I know this review seems like I am being quite negative and rude towards the business because her dining room is closed, but the ultimate point that I'm trying to make is if you're going to make certain decisions customer service should be your key priority to keep your current customers. When I go back to the Roanoke area I will definitely be looking elsewhere to eat food and have officially marked this place off my list of favorite places to come back to when I come back.
My first time here last Saturday 6/2022, I picked up a food order for my client who's a originally from NYC she loves the food here been ordering it for years thanks y'all for putting a smile on a young old lady's face!!
Ordered subs, been wanting them for months and finally got them, so disappointing, loved getting them with slaw to soften the buns and now just shredded lettuce. Another great restaurant starting to fail.
Always great subs! Went for the first time today in 2.5 years, it was just as good as I remembered. Friendly service. Accurate order.
Ordered a hero sub ,it was great lots of meat and slaw,you gets your money worth ,more than I can say for other places will surely go back
I will drive 90 miles for these subs ? huge portions same low prices yall have had for years love the turkey sub add ham a stuarts orange cream soda and a slice of the best cheescake i have ever tasted ?
Great meat & sandwiches, the only reason I gave 4 and not 5 stars is because the past 2 times we were there the wife ordered a submarine with lettuce and got it with slaw.
