We've been there several times and we loved some of the options and didn't like some!Their sandwiches usually taste good but when it comes to seafood or meat, not always! We were disappointed by the smell and taste.Service is good tho
Very eclectic menu! Got the Montano Gouda cheese burger and the Korean Beef Seoul Bowl. Excellent. Wings are a great appetizer as well.
I have always gotten great meals from Montanos. The 12 inch Italian Sub was lunch and dinner Delicious. My wifes Reuben was also delicious.
This place is tucked out of the way in the middle of a strip shopping center, but it is probably the best eating establishment within a couple miles of 81 in Roanoke. We stopped in after several hours of highway driving south from Pennsylvania, and it was an incredible lunch experience. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was relaxing and cool, and the food was amazing. We tried a selection of flatbread pizza, meatball sub, and grilled cheese w/ tomato soup. The grilled cheese sandwich had slices of tomato which absolutely thrilled my wife, and the soup was immensely flavorful. Meatball sub was served open-face, but it was excellent. We are looking for excuses to go back to Roanoke and make this place part of our visit!!
If I could only eat at one restaurant for the rest of my life, this would most likely be my selection. The menu is so diverse I'd never tire of my selection. They truly have it all. If you can't find something on this menu that you love you don't really like to eat. I have eaten here at least 20 times over the years. [I was taken here the first time by a local] Every single meal has been beyond great.True story.....one of the first times I ate here [at least 12 years ago] the owner was walking around and stopped at our table. He asked my dining partner what she wanted. She said she was unsure. He said 'you just describe anything you want and I will go back there and make it just for you'. She asked for some sort of pasta or a special salad [it was so long ago I truly can't remember] and he went back and whipped it up. She raved about it.My usual order is the New York Kosher sub. I love that sub. Seems so basic but I truly crave that sandwich from time to time.Service is always fantastic. The servers always know their menu and make great suggestions. Have not eaten there lately but they have always had a solid bar area, a small but fantastic local beer selection to-go and a great dessert case. They also have a small outdoor area and they are pet friendly. This is one of my favorite restaurants of all time.
Meal was at best average. Wife and I both order Old Fashions for pre-dinner cocktail with Woodford Reserve Bourbon. They were without a doubt the worst cocktails we’ve ever been served in over 40 years of marriage. .
The ribs were so tender they literally fell off the bone. My husband got a plantain steak which seemed an odd combo but it was really delicious. Our server had such a fun attitude and made our birthday celebration so special.
On our most recent visit in three years, we were overall disappointed with the food, service and price. Although we are still dealing with covid, we do not believe the negatives are completely covid related. The restaurant is too cozy, especially with covid. In my opinion, the food is overpriced, especially for the amount of food received. Unfortunately, the food also has a tendency to be served cool. If asked to fix, will reheat, unfortunately resulting in overcooked food. Our server was overall good; he did have a couple issues with forgetfulness.
If you're looking for a Romantic Date night place. This is it! Delicious food! Best Customer Service! Ask for Ms. Donna for your waitress! She is Amazing!
This is one of the better restaurants in all of Roanoke and new river valleys. Would love to come here more often if I loved closer. Food and service has always been spectacular along with the wine and beer selection. However I'm removing one star for a simple reason. Why it was done I have no idea. However the dipping oils for the bread has been cut with vegetable oil. It's a cost saving measure but it's cheap and ghetto instead of using 100% extra virgin Olive oil. Not sure what other shortcuts they got going on in the kitchen to save money. Maybe I am completely wrong, but I have worked in restaurants a long time and know my Olive oils.
