Stopped by to pick up dinner. While I was attempting to order, the waitress sighed heavily and crossed her arms all while looking at me with a nasty look. Made me very uncomfortable. I tried to ask her a question and she refused to answer. I said I had to go get my money out of my car and drove off. Would never stop at Ichiban ever again. Avoid like the plague.
One of my favorites..Great place for great food
I fell down a well when I was 12. It was a surprisingly tranquil experience sitting in the Luke warm well water. I returned to that moment as I entered the building it was divine. From the moment they threw shrimp at me takes me back to the rope being thrown down to me. This is a special place a rare event to happen in todays time. I felt like a superstar the whole time like Freddie Mercury pre-aids it was amazing. Thank you so much ichiban staff truly. The food is alright as well.
Food was good and tasty. The wait for a table wasn’t too long. Yet when we were seated it took over an hour for us to even get drinks. It’s like our drinks didn’t come until right before the chef did. I guess that’s part of their way of stopping you from getting full off of drinks. Outside of that the restaurant was nice and our chef did well
Never again! We tried hard to support Ichiban during the pandemic but they now feel they can steal from their client base. Ordered the "love boat" which has 12 sashimi pieces. Per the pic, we got almost nothing, no tuna, no salmon, etc. But a ton of carrots and kale . No miso soup as they were out; 50 minutes wait for a pick-up order which was promised in 15 minutes. What a shame.
Great experience. Went with a large party at short notice and was blown away by the service and food quality. Delicious!
This is probably my favorite sushi place in Roanoke/Salem. Great variety of rolls to please everyone and if someone is not a sushi person, great hibachi to choose from as well. I’ve ordered take out and dine in many many times and have never been disappointed by either.
Our servers were friendly and attentive. I had my entree prepared in the kitchen because I had to leave early. I enjoyed the soup but I was disappointed that the ginger dressing had a mayonnaise base. I got to see the chef prepare some of the grilled food, and he was entertaining.
I love Ichiban, it is worlds better than Kabuki. We have been coming here for years and its cheaper too. It will still cost about 20$ a person but its a great experience everytime. Keep in mind Thursday is sushi night so remember to call for a reservation even during the week. The "Volcano" drink is so yummy and fun! The hibachi shrimp is my absolute favorite but I did enjoy the tuna, that being said I am not a raw or undercooked fish person so I did get it well done. I am sure for an ahi-tuna fan they would love it. My friends enjoyed the steak and dumplings. The dumplings were very good from what I tasted and of course their ginger dressing for the salads was so yummy and the soup is always a show stopper!
Love it! The side salad with the homemade ginger salad dressing ? the tempura sushi rolls ?. Rice is amazing! Staff is very friendly and inviting. The chefs who cook for you are very engaging and good at what they do. No disappointments
