My wife and I have eaten here several times, usually it’s awesome from the moment you walk in till you leave. Something has been off the last couple times. My filet was more rare the med rare, they tried to cook it more but in reality just made it dry and still rare in the middle. The Brussels sprouts were hard as a rock and they are normally great! The asparagus was bland and the hollandoais sauce was really runny. We got dessert on the house it was an attempt at a citrus cheesecake but tasted more like something out of a box from the grocery store, very little flavor and the crust had zero flavor. Drinks were great! Service was excellent, the manager was attentive but a little annoying, I think we counted 11 table touches on our table alone. We are moving out of state and this was our last meal in Roanoke. We wanted it to be better.

Very attentive to everyone

The staff are incredible. The food is amazing. I would recommend to anyone.

Very good service and top quality food. Except… between appetizer/salad and entrees, seemed to take quite a long time. For such an expensive, al a carte menu, we would expect top quality bread. It was like something from Kroger. White, cold - makes no sense. Judge restaurants by their bread first and last. Would take a little effort to improve this important part of dining. Also, as soon as we walked in, waiting to be greeted and seated - strong smell of mold.

Walked in to be greeted by an employee texting for 2 minutes before noticing us and disinterestedly seating us, waitress seemed nice enough, forgot our order twice and came back to check (which wasn’t a problem, just, odd), the food was the worst steak I’ve ever eaten in in the USA (usually a good quality and well done cuisine in America) and was shockingly expensive for the quality. A “fillet” full of gristle, a “New York strip” that was nothing like, undercooked, cold and with awful (although HUGELY sized) side dishes The scallop starter was not too bad, but the oysters smelled and tasted so bad we sent them back.

Over priced for the quality of food. Sent back 2 separate dishes as food was cold. I NEVER send food back but when the bill for 2 people was around $400 I expect a better experience. They did comp the dessert but that was disappointing. Presentation of food left a lot to be desired. Will not be back.

The treat of all treats when you come to Roanoke. Not an inexpensive dinner but week worth it.

Excellent service from our waiter! We were a party of 4 and 3 of our steaks were taken back 3 different times to be re-cooked the way that were had originally ordered them. The manager ended up removing each steak from our individual tabs. Also, the food was very bland. I’ve visited Frankie’s on several different occasions but they were really “off” on this night, unfortunately.

Anniversary

Excellent food with great wait staff. Saved my evening after a dining experience we had to leave.
