The kitchen staff is amazing and the food is consistently good.
I relocated to Roanoke, Virginia following medical school for residency training. I’ve been here 4 years. All of the previous times I’ve dined at this restaurant I’ve had pleasant experiences. I had family visiting in town (my father, a retired veteran, my mother, and my grandmother) and brought them to this establishment hoping for a similar experience I’ve had before. Unfortunately even prior to entering the restaurant I was met with a rude server with an incredibly nasty attitude. We asked two clarifying questions- 1) Given no hostess was at the stand, do we seat ourselves? and 2) Can she clarify the guest FITA password for my toddlers ipad. Both questions were met with unprofessional responses. Oddly, I didn’t witness similar hostility towards other guests from this particular server. The hostess once available was great. Our server was great. The food was great. The other guests were great. No manager on site. Unfortunately those two experiences discolored an otherwise pleasant dining experience.. on Fathers Day and Juneteenth nonetheless. I served tables prior to medical school. I get how hard the job is. Regardless, it is unacceptable to demonstrate such poor customer service. I am incredibly disappointed in my experience here and will think twice about returning. I truly hope this is not the experience for other minority patrons.
Great outdoor dining. Great food. Great friendly staff! Wish I lived in Roanoke!!
Great food and friendly service.
We were in the area from MI. Loved the food and being able to dine outside. Had one of my favorite beers on tap- summer shandy :)
Off the beaten path, quaint dining option. Enjoyed the outdoor patio until the rains came, then moved in to the porch. Decent food and very accommodating.
Absolutely horrible food barbecue tasted like it was cooked on top of a gasoline fueled fire and then soaked in vinegar. At least I hope that's why the bun was converted into a loogie/doughy state. Mind blown. Hmu me and 90% of the population can teach you how to make edible pulled pork. Just sad.
Our experience here today was very atrocious to say the least. We got seated at an outside table for four, which had two seats close to a cut off edge, separated with stones. We did not notice this hazard at first, but halfway through our seating, my poor mom’s chair slipped from that edge(2 inches) and fell backwards on the stones. It was very embarrassing and hurtful for my mom(left with bruised and almost a broken finger). Those seated close by tried to help and had the waitress and the owner alarmed. But although they voiced their apologies and provided some ice, no compensation or additional effort was given towards this incident that was clearly an issue of the restaurant. On top of all this, one of our pizza orders consisted of a few burnt slices of pizzas and the other pizza was missing the added pepperoni requested. Very disappointing experience overall.
Fork in the Alley was a really neat little place which actually isn't little at all. With an outside bar, an outdoor dining patio, inside dining and of course an inside bar it can hold quite a few people. At the time I was there (inside bar at 4 pm Friday afternoon) there was more staff than people. They get a later crowd. Wood fired pizza was good and staff friendly. On second visit had fries appetizers: amazing and Smores for dessert: also amazing!
I split a fire roasted pizza with my partner and it was very good but I like their white pizza better ! That's just me a white pizzafinatic ! It was ready when I got there!
