Fantastic food and friendly service at this small bistro on a quiet residential street. Easy parking out front and plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the weather. Prices are quite reasonable and the menu has a whole vegetarian section. The key lime pie was the best I've ever had, and the portion was more than generous. What a local gem!
You want to order this cake. I chose this bakery sight unseen and without a taste test. I ordered a sheet cake in Lemon Chiffon on a Tuesday and it was ready on Friday. The zest in the lemon is perfect. The cake is fluffy. The icing is creamy. It definitely will feed the amount of people suggested and the price is by far better than any other bakery in Roanoke. I’ve tried cakes and cupcakes throughout the town and THIS PLACE beats them ALL. Everyone of the party attendees asked for the name and phone number of this place. It’s absolutely phenomenal.
The decor is amazing in this retro building. The server was attentive and friendly. I got Mushroom bisque- incredible!- and a crabmeat salad that was delicious. My husband got a slice of chocolate cake for dessert and loved it. This is a gem!

Evie's is everything you hope to find in a neighborhood cafe. Wonderful menu, lots of vegan choices. The kids will be happy too. Save room for cake! Great selection. Full bakery on site, YUM. Can't miss at Evie's.

The cake was delicious but the pace was a bit slow, I didn't think it took 15 minutes to cut 4 slices of cake. They were not that busy either.
EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Whenever we go to Roanoke , we never miss a trip to this delightful neighborhood bakery/cafe on 4th St. The coconut cake is worth every mile of the 140 we drive to get there. Everything else is wonderful as well, but my focus has always been the coconut ? cake.
Always a great place to visit. Service is always great! Food has never been a disappointment. The house sandwich bread is yummy. Cakes are soooo amazing.
My husband surprised me at work and picked me up for lunch. He loves the Cobb salad at Evie's. I got the dragon tooth sandwich. Both meals were wonderful, and we took home two pieces of cake to enjoy later. Our server was friendly and attentive, and she made sure we had refills and anything we needed.
