Recommend this excellent BBQ. There was a line before the place opened on a weekday! Parking in the lot or neighborhood is plentiful. Walk in a cafeteria style custom ordering by helpful staff. Prices are reasonable for the quality received. Took some to go too and packaging was great to keep food fresh and separate. Tried a sample of ribs, pulled pork and brisket. Everything was great!
One of the best BBQ I've ever had. I'm from Toronto Canada and travel alot in the states for work. I've always wanted to go to a place I've seen on triple D. Today I got my chance. I had the brisket and sausage sandwich, beet salad and a bacon rib (I didn't even know there was such a thing). The bacon rib was like candy and the sandwich was so good it didn't even need bbq sauce on it. I would highly recommend anyone in the Richmond Virginia area to cone here and eat.
The food was amazing, portion size huge. And the restaurant itself is welcoming to all.We had the pulled pork and triple meat sandwich. Brisket amazingly moist.Staff was friendly and again welcoming.
I was a BIG fan of the RVA’s other major BBQ restaurant until today. ZZQ has been around awhile and I have not gone. My error… I now have new fave in the RVA for Q. These guys know their smoker and techniques. Great balance of smoke, flavor, and tenderness with everything. I highly recommend the sliced brisket and pick a house made sausage of the day. Pair it with some Greens/Texas Caviar…. Add a Lone Star Beer and you have one of the best A+ heaping lunches this side of the Big D! Tell them tripguy sent you. Get there early… open at 11A and close by 6P or sellout whichever is first.

First time trying this place as I am from NY and this was probably the best BBQ I have ever had! Everything is cut right in front of you and they smoke all the meats and it was the most flavorful bbq I’ve ever eaten! The turkey was the most juicy and flavorful I’ve ever eaten probably won’t find a turkey as good as this and the brisket so so tender and the the pulled pork was melt in your mouth and the beef rib was fall of the bone totally worth every dollar! The sweet tea/unsweetened tea was outstanding and all the sides from collard greens to the beans to the potatoe salad and pickled onions and pickles I was in bbq heaven and I can’t wait till my next trip down here to have this place again truly legendary! Don’t forget our the banana pudding too great dessert to top everything off!
One of my favorite road-trip stops! You could smell the deliciousness as you pulled in. The staff was super attentive, the restaurant was charming & clean… and the food was so delicious. I will definitely be back.
Met a friend here for lunch, and was not disappointed. Had the pulled pork sandwich with a side of jalapeno mac-n-cheese, and both were excellent. Also tried the thicker BBQ sauce, which is very good. Only thing that could have made it better, was if they would have french fries, or at least potato wedges, as a side offering. A bit expensive, but it is good.
Amazing BBQ! You can either dine in or take out. We got there 15min. before they opened (on a weekend) and there was already a line outside - and we can definitely see why! The food was the best BBQ we have had. Portions are generous and leave you satisfied. Jalapeño mac and cheese is delicious!
I love the ambiance of this place, the bar, the service…now let’s talk about the food:I ordered half chicken with green beans and the cucumber salad, my friend ordered the tres hombres sandwich with Jalapeño Mac and cheese and everything was absolutely perfect! The chicken was great, the sandwich omg! ? The cucumber salad was yummy, the Mac and cheese was creamy and the jalapeño gave that extra touch…I got to try the beef brisket, the pulled pork and the sausage on the sandwich and all I can say is wow. Also, we tried the bbq sauces: Sassy and thick and both were really good! Now let’s talk about the drinks: my friend ordered a Long Island and it was perfect. This restaurant get 5 starts… I would give more if I could! Everything was absolutely delicious. Best bbq I have had. I’ll be coming back for more.
