Our server was friendly. We were a party of four and seated quickly as it was not busy. One of our party did not like sushi and placed an order from the lunch menu of some rice and spring rolls and the rest of us ordered all you can eat sushi. The manager came to our table and informed us that if anyone orders all you can eat at your table that everyone will be charged for all you can eat. It was not crowded at all and I understand they don’t want plate sharing. So we paid for three to eat sushi and got food to go since they would not serve our fourth person. First and last time here.
If I could give less than one star I would. It’s really disappointing when I spend $70 on a mean for my wife and I and the quality of the food is no more than the sushi you get from the grocery store. Here are the reasons I will never eat here again and warn anyone that reads this to go with caution.First is the calamari. I don’t think that a small hand full of calamari, and I’m talking about maybe 10-12 rings total, that was way over fried and about as chewy as a rubber band should be nine plus dollars.Second is the Spider-Man crab roll. 14 bucks for a half of a soft shell crab, and that’s mostly the small legs in the roll. I frequently get the same roll for 10 bucks and even 9 dollars that has the whole crab in it and taste much better.Third is the smoking roll. This was suppose to have smoked salmon and couldn’t even taste it because over half of the roll was cream cheese. Now I understand that towards the end of the rolls, there will be less ingredients, but everything that I am commenting on is from the center of the roll. It’s sad and infuriating that business owners charge the prices they do and give the illusion of a quality establishment, only to ha their product be many levels below of what is given. As I mentioned before, anyone thinking about eating here, proceed with caution.
Mediocre sushi served by a creepy male server who kept making weird sexual comments to my partner about me.
I went there today and was satisfied. I had a whole bunch of sushi dishes from red clam, squid, salmon, tuna and octopus. I tried a couple hibachi dishes and a few appetizers. Their was a waiter who was wearing a powerful aroma of cologne. I‘d be come back just because he smelled good.
Excellent food and service. Atmosphere was quiet but friendly. The beef hibachi had no right being as great as it was. The sushi (nigiri) tasted fresh and bright, and the miso and mushroom soups were both flavorful. Our server was new but quick to check on any questions we had and gave great recommendations.
The server was nice but the food was not worth the money. I ordered the hibachi beef that came with rice and vegetables. The picture is the second order, which I told them to leave out the rice. The meat was barley warm and the veggies were cold. The pieces of meat were tiny. See the comparison to the penny on the side of the plate.
Price was good for the all you can eat sushi. Selection was decent. Sushi was decent. It was busy so the one guy who was filling all the orders was rushing all over. He was very good and super nice but I think the kitchen was a bit slow filling orders during the lunch rush. It was a good thing that I ordered the perfect amount the first time because I was there an hour and if I had wanted more, it would have been a very long lunch. I ordered hot tea and was given Lipton black tea. I was a little confused since it is a sushi bar. Oolong would have been acceptable but I was hoping for some sushi bar style green tea. Definitely not Lipton. It was better than some all you can eat sushi but not as good as several places in other cities. Definitely not as good as a dedicated sushi bar with choice cuts.
Love this place! Soooo much better than sushi king. All you can eat sushi and freshly made. Only thing is the service is a little short the past couple of times, so just be patient with them. The wait is well worth it!
I had the worst dining experience at Yoshi Sushi. Service was terrible. I was there with my family and they bought out food one item at a time with very long wait in between. Gave me soup with no spoon. Menu selection was limited. Food is not fresh, tasted stale. They filled up the rolls with rice and tiny and super thin slices of fish. Don’t go there. Don’t waste your money. I will never go there again.
2 stars - Service is extremely slow and that staff seems very rushed. Ordering your food seems like a high pressure situation.4 stars - Food was excellent. If you are reading this it is roughly 25% higher quality than sushi kings best day.We had a large party (family) very polite and well mannered. When checking out the waitress did not offer us the current discount. After inquiring about the discount she very awkwardly agreed to discount my particular tab and then continued to charge the rest of the party as if they were not aware.I am guessing that gratuity must have been the motive since it was already added. She would have been tipped double the 18% automatic gratuity charge if the transaction did not seem so shady.
