I bought my first groceries at the Ukrop’s store in the old Hull Street business district. For the rest of the time they were in business in Richmond, I got a guilty conscience if I bought groceries anywhere else. I was sad when they sold out and happy when they came back via the Market Hall. This evening We are having a group of young people in for dinner that was to feature Ukrop’s fried chicken. I polled the young folks and they wanted drumsticks. So I go into the Market Hall and they refused to sell me more than four drumsticks. The store was not busy, not one other person in line to buy chicken. There was a large platter of drumsticks in the case but I could only buy four. I offered to go through the line three times, buying four each time but I couldn’t do that either. When do you think will be the next time l go into the Market Hall for anything? I went straight to Kroger’s and they were happy to sell me as many drumsticks as I wanted. I did not have a guilty conscience.
Boyfriend and I went to get his birthday dinner from the Market Hall and they NEVER disappoint. Food is always fresh and delicious and there are multiple dining options for eating there. Prices are decent and worth the cost. We usually get takeout and everything is always packaged well and easy to handle. I love love LOVE this Market Hall and there's always so many delicious foods and desserts to pick from, you'll want to take it all home with you!!

What's not to love about Ukrops Market Hall? All of your favorit RVA foods in one little corner - Fried Chicken, Chocolate Pie, Breakfast Pizza, Rainbow Cookies, Meals for 2? Umm. I think that I will stop by after work.
At first, I thought I had found Wonka Land...however, no such luck. While I am still a fan of their chess pie, I cannot say the same about their ginger cookie, just okay, their sugar cookie, nothing special, and their carrot muffins, where was the carrot, pineapple, the raisins or flavor? Yet, they were quite moist. Will I return? No. I will continue to search for a great bakery in the Richmond area.
Driving home, I detected an aroma long since forgotten. I googled Ukrop’s and confirmed it was located 500 ft. from my current location. That unforgettable smell was , as I suspected, Ukrop’s fried chicken!!! Walking through the cakes , pies, prepared foods , coffee and of course, fried chicken and potato wedges at the counter, brought back memories. I filled my basket with a plethora of choices and raced home. The best ending to a great Saturday afternoon. First time but not the last time.
Pizza crust is so good. The veggie and the cheese on pizza is fresh. Tomato sauce of pizza taste unique and good. Their fried chicken so good. Broccoli rice side is the best. Their cake in general, sugar above limit.
Delicious, oven fresh breads, cookies, pies and cakes. I went in for one item and left with a big bag full of goodies! The staff are so warm, helpful and friendly too! ???
