Very professional and easy to navigate. The role of the river in the history of Richmond was interesting and human conflict that brought us to today. The Wickham House tour was informative and the house and the people who lived and we're enslaved there were given life.I really was moved by the desecrated statue of Jefferson Davis that came down in 2020. The museum asked for visitor perspectives on how it should be presented.
Wonderful courtyard for a work day lunch. Update: Had a chance to catch a tour of Wickham House and The Valentine's Monumental Power Play Tour. Amazing curator-led tour through power elements that allowed the perpetuation of the Lost Cause myth. Well done! Very proud of this Richmond institution for helping to update it's messages with thoughtful consideration of untold stories. Also got a sneak peek at the Wickham House. A must-see!
I RECOMMEND THIS MUSEUM 100%. If You’re downtown Richmond You should definitely come visit. You’ll acquire a great deal about Virginia and its history not only by walking through the house/ museum but the guides are very good and informative. I would definitely return.
Our tour guide answered the many questions we had and was very polite
