I was very excited to try a new spot near the mall. Was having difficulty opening the doors and once I got it to open one of the employees seemed irritated. One of the customers dining was more helpful than the workers, and they don’t even work there. Cashier lacked customer service and seemed as if she didn’t want to help us. When our order was ready we didn’t even know it was ours due to the lack of communication. It was just handed without no say. I am not one to complain ,but this place lacks a lot of customer service.
Probably.. The worst acai bowl I've ever had. The color of the acai is super off, and there were not a lot of variety in the toppings. Your topping options were banana, granola, and chocolate chips, that's it. Also, my wife asked for freshly squuezed juice (in the menu). They charge her, and they proceed to give her non squeezed juice and then tell her they're out. Would not come back here, that's for sure.
So I discovered The Pit and Peel on Sunday, Friday morning I was making my fifth visit. I am obsessed with acai bowls! So I'm a little over the top "extra" and I love to have things my way; especially food because I am a big time foodie. Luckily for me there's a wonderful young lady by the name of Emily who works there who has been very patient and kind to me. She is absolutely delightful, charismatic, and meticulous. She carefully composes my bowl with all the ingredients I want the way that I want them. When my family and friends come to visit I will bringing them to The Pit and Peel and hopefully they enjoy a delicious bowl and meet the lovely Emily, she is clearly part of the ambience. ☺️??
me and my friend came here on a Saturday afternoon and was very displeased by what we saw.first off the young lady that took my order was very polite, but then as soon as I paid my order was already up. I saw the girl pull my smoothie out from the freezer and hand it to me. After standing there and waiting for someone to direct me if that was my drink or not, a girl had made eye contact with me and turned around and didn’t even acknowledge me.Moving on to run my friend had ordered her a quesadilla, we waited for about 10 to 15 minutes and watched as the girls shattered and played with her hair, took selfies on their phone wild food/ bowls was being made.when I asked for the card to contact the management, all of the girls stopped what they were doing and stood there and looked at me. This place lacks a lot of customer service, if you’re going to hire younger people at least train them to work in a food industry. You should not be dragging your hands through your hair, or putting your hands up to your mouth with gloves on. And then turning around and making food.
World’s smoothest smoothie and a very friendly staff!
Not sure where all of the bad reviews are coming from… probably from all of the Karens of Short Pump. Jk. But in all honesty, my husband and I are obsessed with the beach bowl here and could eat one everyday. I have supported pit & the peel since they first opened on VCU campus and love that they opened another location at short pump mall. The açaí bowls are the best we’ve ever had and the fruits are always fresh and delicious. The smoothie at this location is by far the most consistent compared to the other locations and I’ve never had a bad customer service experience. I would highly recommend the beach bowl… you won’t regret it.
Nasty…I got the most basic smoothie and it was tart. I had to throw it away
Last night I went to the shop around 6:15 and I pushed the door and it was locked. I doubled checked the timing on the door and it said that they close at 7 on Fridays. I gave it one more push thinking maybe the door was broken and some girl comes out of the back and motions “no” and shakes her head towards me. I point to the signage that says they’re open until 7 and she shakes her head again. If you all close earlier than 7 now I believe the signage should reflect this.
If they don’t have small cups then take off the prices of a small on the menu or be able to make a small and pour the small into the big cup…upselling and not being flexible with customers if there are problems within the business deserves a bad review
Lady in front of us ordered a smoothie and it was like juice and water not even a smoothie. It was dirty, they were rude, just no
