First, make reservations. We went on a Sunday evening and they were turning away people without reservations. The food was amazing! Service was great. Interesting cocktails. I had the salmon and loved it. My husband had a seafood pot and said it was delicious. There is a parking lot with free parking for customers of Patio Thai on the corner near the restaurant.

The atmosphere is amazing! The curry was so good! Loved the dumplings and Soups! Great spot with lots of parking and some great drinks!

This is a jewel!! We eat Thai places all the time…and this had some of the absolute best dishes. Duck, amazing, Cashew Nut chicken, tops. Pad See Ew, perfect. Definitely worth the stop!

Just as the ratings said, 5 stars. This is a really cute restaurant with really good authentic Thai food. I started with the dumplings. Goyoza. I asked for a recommendation and the waitress said she liked the Krispy Duck. I hadn't had good Thai food in a long time. And I haven't eaten duck in many years. So I have it a try. The dumplings were very good. When the main meal came out, the presentation was quite nice. The serving was large. Duck, veggies and rice. The taste was awesome. It was a great recommendation. The place seems to be much bigger than it looks like. There are tables in the main room by the bar. There are tables in another section in the back and the patio section also. The restaurant is cute, sexy and romantic. Bring a date or family or like me, come solo. I recommend this place.

Fresh food with many menu choices. We have visited many times and they are able to satisfy one GF and one Vegan children.

I love this place, great customer service and it is very clean! The food is very good and it has a great presentation!

Super yummy dishes and appetizers. We make it a point to have lunch here whenever we visit our son at VCU. Today was our 4th time. Their service is quick and the food is always hot and beautifully plated. I always order some kind of seafood and it is perfectly cooked. Pad Thai is my most favorite and their fried rice. The papaya salad is fresh and crunchy. Their calamari appetizer and the delicious sauce that it comes is a 'must try'. Very different from other places that serve calamari. They were kind to allow us to bring in a cake for our son's bday so we could celebrate there. Only one negative was that it was very cold where we were seated (close to the window) but then we also know that the buildings in RIC are old and insulation isn't that great. Plus it had just snowed the day before and it was bitterly cold!! It won't stop us from coming back though. Maybe I'll bring an extra blanket for my lap next time! :)

It’s not every day that your hotel desk clerk directs you to a standout local restaurant, but tonight, he did! I tried Patio Thai on the recommendation of the hotel, and found what may be my new favorite Thai restaurant. Quirky and funky location in an old building and courtyard in downtown Richmond, the décor is eclectic and casually upscale. I was immediately welcomed on arrival, and elected to sit in the front bar area. Service was attentive without being obtrusive. Dinner? Outstanding! Wonton soup full of veggies and a large serving. Red curry beef, extra spicy, was served hot and full of flavor. The patio area wasn’t open tonight (cold winter night), but looks like it would be fun to visit on a warmer day. I can very much recommend this restaurant, and look forward to visiting again on future trips to Richmond.

This food is DELICIOUS!!! Ingredients are fresh, service is friendly and prompt. The pineapple fried rice comes in a real pineapple husk!!!Simply put, really, really good! This should be your regular Thai spot. It's so good. Enjoy

1st time dining, but one of the better Thai venues in the city. Spacious venue with plenty patio seating for the spring. Good vibes from the bartenders, will definitely be going back.
