Nice rooftop..their naan and spinach dip was yum.. I was also pleasantly surprised with their veggie rolls... Decent selection of beers.. They always have something going on second floor - like some event... Rooftop is pretty nice to enjoy sunset...
Very cool place. If youbwant something a little chiller than the tap house this is the spot and the roof top is sweet. Clean late night bathrooms
Went last night to catch a good vibe. But unfortunately the food was horrible woke up this am with a bad stomach ache! I had the wing basket and the Philly Steak egg rolls. The music was too low on the roof, they only had one tiny speaker up there. I gave two stars because of the view and at least the bathroom was clean. And what happened to the games they used to have on the roof top? Overall I was very disappointed! Oh and the bar tender on the first floor didn’t even know how to make a mixed drink… she said she would “google” something…. Ummm no! Just sad!
It felt great on the roof until a mysterious spicy gas caused everyone to start coughing. It happened not once nor twice… Three times! I don’t know if they have a vent from the kitchen to the roof but that was weird!
6/25 Worst bouncer experience I have ever experienced. The guy manning the door in the red shirt barely spoke up when checking ID’s was very rude and disrespectful. He also wasn’t checking ID’s all the way. Multiple people in my group got in under 18 and without x’s on hands. At the end of the night he called me a “little bitch” when I poured my water out on the side walk Instead of walking back into the bar to finish it. Would go to the canal club or the broadberry or literally any other venue space in rva a million times before I will ever go back to the hof garden. Any promoter looking to book a venue for a rva show STAY AWAY. - a rva hxc local
Went for Sundown Sunday House music. Restaurant,bar on groundlevel. Street Parking is fair. Rooftop is a nice view with a bar, servers available and decent seating. Wide range of ages and walks of life frequent the fun rooftop.
Food took an exorbitant amount of time, bartenders showing large amount of PDA. Our group was getting told we we're being rude after being denied a refund since we were tired of waiting. Told our food would arrive shortly TWICE and it never came. Great atmosphere and good drinks but very disappointed in the staff there
Really bad service. Ordered food on the main level and after an hour and half passed we checked with the bar. They were not attentive to us at all and snapped at us when we asked about the timeliness of the order. Location and building is fine but customer service was embarrassing.
The bar is actually visually pleasing. Several different floors and great staff. It's been through several owners and of course the changes haven't been the best. Bartenders are friendly, staff is fine, and food is mediocre. The place just kind of lost its spark after the 1st year. Hard to explain in words but nonetheless the place is alright and worth checking out. You can rent rooms for special occasions and events. Definitely costly but they can have multiple evetns in one night with their several rooms.
Went on a Friday night, and it was super slow. Was told the band would be playing by 9. When we went to the second floor at 9, they told us they weren't starting until 10. We went back downstairs to close our tab, mine being 24, and adding a five dollar tip (which is 20%). Next morning, my bank account has a separate charge apart from the $29 tab, that was $11 which I did NOT sign for, or even see at all. I've also heard about girls getting roofied there. Would not recommend.
