The food here is delicious! My husband and I love driving up to Richmond just to eat here. They have a really cute dining room area upstairs that is decorated with plants. Their fried chicken is unlike anyone else's I've tried and the biscuits always taste so fresh. Try them. They will not disappoint!! :)
You know the place has to be good if there is a wait outside the door before it opens. Food was great, I had the fan with fried egg added. Only complaint is the added gratuity that’s automatically included, but other that I enjoyed it
Not greatest fan of sausage gravy and biscuits combo. I'm guessing it was the gravy and not the biscuit that tasted like sugar or such was in it. Too sweet for me. Biscuit itself seemed fluffy so I'd like to try the biscuit by itself. Chicken was ok. Had flavor but not going out of my way for it. Upstairs dining pics below is nice atmosphere. Downstairs and outside dining available. Carryout as well. Line can build quickly. Staff was great and comped part of my check without me asking due to gravy not being on cold side. I just had them heat up a little bit more and poured over the food. Need to stir the gravy to make sure warm/hot before pouring over biscuit.
I was able to get a seat quickly and had my food equally as fast. The setting was peaceful and the food portions were generous! Staff was very helpful and provided superior service.
Chicken goop
The food was great, but the people are really what makes this place special. My waitress was so kind and incredibly helpful. When I was leaving I accidentally dropped my leftovers and a cook immediately offered to remake it for me for free on the fly. The atmosphere was great, and everyone was so welcoming.
Not your ordinary biscuit and chicken sandwich. This is by far the best chicken sandwich in Richmond,Va and I’ve had my share of sandwiches. The mix of sweet and savory wow is all I can say
We go regularly, and have tried almost everything on the menu. We have liked/loved everything we've had.
Delicious biscuits, soft texture.....a must try!!!
Would have been 5 stars if the fried chicken in my sandwich wasn’t sandbagged(cooked way ahead of time due to incompetent kitchen staff). Food came out way to quickly and chicken was room temperature. Biscuit was good, service was good. Potato salad was excellent. Big miss on the chicken.
