Love the location and setting. Hate the lack of a dedicated waiter/waitress. Ordering on an App seems really inappropriate for this level of fine dining. (Afterall, we are not at Newark airport.) The same wait person doesn't come by twice. 20% gratuity is auto added. Why? Who thinks this is a good idea? Uber expensive $20 for a chicken sandwhich and 10 fries. hmmmmmmm.....

The Boathouse unfortunately is not what it use to be. The good has become mediocre at best but the prices continue to increase. The service was fine but again the good left a lot to be desired especially the oysters and the scampi. I wonât give up on them just yet but I hope things turnaround soon.
Not good ! Will not return The female wait staff had a big attitude with us when we asked for glasses so we could put our pelligrino water in it ! ( instead of the shot glasses you all use). The older ladies we were with were not fans of the Ordering process and the same wait staff person was not very understanding but rather condescending. The food was not good ⦠my soup was Luke warm , my Caesar Salad was mostly iceberg lettuce .. expecting romaine. Crab cake sandwich was full of bread. Chicken piccata had no taste. Very annoyed that there was a 20% service charge added automatically and then we were asked for an additional tip. For What ?? And the valet was $12.00 ( yikes ⦠are we in Georgetown ,DC !!) So disappointed and embarrassed bc we are moving to church hill and were so excited to share the great location and the many fine restaurants we will be around :(
Blended ordering/service concept takes some getting used to but overall worked just fine.
Very fun place to go out to eat! I would go back again.

Service was beyond deplorable. We had a reservation, and they still kept us waiting 15 minutes even though there was no one else waiting to be seated and the restaurant was only 1/4 occupied. We waited 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order. We were immediately informed that there was a mandatory 20 percent service charge, and we needed to give them our credit card before they would take our order. We should have known then that the service was going to be terrible. 30 minutes later our drinks an appetizers arrived. We immediately ordered our entrees. After an hour, they arrived with one entree. They hadn't even bussed the table from the appetizers. We had to ask. The another 45 minutes the other entrees arrived. Again we had to ask them to bus the table when we were finished eating. We skipped the dessert because we had to go to work the next day, and we weren't confident we'd be served by then. WORST SERVICE IN THE WORLD!!! We will NEVER go back, and encourage NO ONE to ever waste the better part of a day just trying to get lunch. With this kind of reprehensible service, it's no wonder they take your credit card before they'll even take your order and tack on a 20% service charge for the waitstaff -- because they would NEVER, EVER get a tip. This restaurant should be sold to someone in the restaurant business. It's a shame, because the food is adequately good, and the views are lovely. Both COMPLETELY RUINED by the incompetent and resolutely indifferent waitstaff. DO NOT GO HERE unless you want afford to ruin your whole weekend. We found out the hard way by going here.
Our evening at The Boathouse at Rockets Landing was more or less ruined by the terrible service, which we were forced to pay a mandatory 20% tip. Much of the blame can be laid at the feet of the QR Code ordering system, where you use your phone to order, rather than giving your order to a server. This alone robs the experience of much charm, but the system was not working. So we received our entrees before our salads and might never have received our beverages except for our insistent hailing of random employees. I have never had a more disappointing dining experience.
Brunch was not the best experience this time around.
