I haven't been here in a long time - I decided to visit again .I had COVID back in September, and it's made my taste super off when it comes to certain things. I ordered the pad Thai , and I was super looking forward to it. Once it came out everything looked as it was supposed to. Except, once I tasted it , it tasted like that odd/off taste I mentioned earlier.I was super disappointed because I could not finish or even start my meal. My waiter traded out my meal for something else on the house and it meant the WORLD to me. I would've paid for the meal either way , it showed me genuine care that they switched it out for me instead of charging me for the pad Thai.Thank you - I will be revisiting ❤️
Food and service have gone downhill exponentially here. This was my go to Thai spot.Have been 3 times in the last 3 months and everything is mediocre in flavor & staff is RUDE. Business does not feel appreciated whatsoever. And they act very, very entitled.I had a nice server for the first time last night so I wasn’t going to leave a review about the mediocre food but literally just got cussed at on the phone by the old lady Jai/Jay who had an attitude behind the bar all night & was loud and obnoxious. Good customer service is paramount in this industry yall.
I rarely give out 5 star reviews but there’s nothing wrong with this places food! Everything is sooo delicious! I especially love the fried dumplings, spring rolls, Thai iced tea and red curry fried rice. The service is fast and friendly. My only small complaint is the bathrooms are a little sketchy…but ya know…wait to use the bathroom somewhere else lol.
There are three Thai Restaurants in Carytown. We have eaten at the two higher ranked ones. Tonight those were very busy, so we ate at our untried one. I ordered #44 Gang Dang mild with squid and additional vegetables. It was ok. My wife ordered #28 Pad Khing mild with chicken. It was ok. The Thai Iced Tea was the best part of the meal. At 6:30 pm on a Friday evening, the restaurant was not busy or noisy, a plus. Under TripAdvisor, Thai Diner Too is the third ranked Thai in Carytown. We feel it is a close second.
Great food & service, reasonably priced. Staff was very friendly.
Great food. Unpretentious dining experience with quality Thai food and good service. Pleasantly surprised!
It does smell a bit funny but the food has always been on point for me. Generally I'll have the masaman curry, this time they got the spiciness just right. The young fella working the tables was very nice. Honestly I was just happy they were open on a snow day when so many others were closed. Curry on a cold day will always hit the spot for me. The decor gives it a nice authentic feel and there's lots to look at, they even have local artists displaying their work for sale. I've gotten takeout before and was not as happy as dining in but that's kind of a given.
Was their food delicious and authentic? Yes. Did their Cary Street dining room smell overwhelmingly like Axe body spray? Also yes.Listen, you can't win 'em all. But if you love Thai food and the fragrance of male-over-compensation, this is your place. If you just like Thai food, maybe order to-go, it's still really good.
Great food and great service !
Unimpressed … a huge fan of Thai food, this wasn’t it for me. Perhaps it could be b/c it was close to closing, and an Ubereat deliver, the food was not at all what I expected, the spicy noodle tofu, was dry noodles, no broth, no spice, no flavor. Veggie pot stickers… meh ?… the cucumber was the only thing I actually enjoyed.
