As a "World Famous" author, I should have reviewed this restaurant sooner; but somehow, I missed it. I visited during the height of COVID-19 and it was a gloomy time in the world; however, the meal and experience was a highlight during those unprecedented times. A week or so ago, while celebrating a new book release with my business partner, we visited again during lunchtime. It was a Friday, and we had our traditional Friday fish and chips and everything about the meal was wonderful. Luke, the bartender mixes a great Manhattan. Service was outstanding, I love the interior, the bar area, and the prices and drink specials were right on. I will return when we are around town once again.
So-so on all accounts. The server could barely mask that she wasn't pleased to be serving us. My beer flight wasn't labeled, so I had no idea which beer it was that I really liked, since she said she wasn't sure which was which. My Benedict was messy and the yolk was hard. However, the front staff was courteous and the restaurant was clean. So overall, it was an ok experience.
We stopped here not knowing what to expect, we arrived to a booked house, so we sat to our table and was immediately greeted with a smile. The Restaurant is a one of a kind gem. Tarrant’s West’s food was devine, well flavored with savory dishes. Our Server Irish was intuitive and attentive to our needs. It was a pleasure being serve with this kind, very polite, beautiful looking server.’ I would state she is an asset based on gregarious service. A great stop if you're ever in Richmond, Virginia. You'll be grateful to visit a place with so much to offer.
I had reserved a table for four for the Mother’s Day Brunch two weeks in advance. We arrived and had a nice table waiting. I was so excited to see my daughter and grandson and have then enjoy Tarrant’s food. I have been to Tarrant’s West many times and always enjoyed my dining experiences. The food today on the buffet was cold; scrambled eggs, hash browns were so hard and so cold that my grandson, age 15, even said it was cold and hard! He loves pancakes! There were no knives anywhere even to try and cut the pancakes! We finally gave up! Tried the omelette bar and that was a little better! The best thing today was the coffee! Only three of us had coffee and that certainly was an expensive cup of coffee at $44.00 x 4 (per person) for the brunch! I will not try the brunch again! Definitely showed there was a need for more staff and the need for someone to watch the serving table and replace items that were cold and had been just sitting there for a while!Highly disappointed for my guests on Mother’s Day!
My wife and I along with our Moms and a friend of ours and her parents went to the Mother's Day brunch buffett today, May 8th. I was very excited for this experience. My wife and I have been to Tarrants West many times over the years and we have always had a great meal. I often tell people that it's one of the few restaurants in town that consistently cooks a great steak. Not sure what happened with the Mother's Day buffet but I would rank it a 2 out of 5. Hash brown casserole was just bland oven potatoes, not casserole as advertised on the menu, bacon was greasy, super fatty and not at all crunchy, all the meats including the ham, prime rib and chicken were too salty and dry, Irish lamb stew I actually enjoyed but again was way too salty. Overall, I wouldn't have paid more than $20/person for this buffett as it was basically on par with Golden Corral.
We recently booked a private party for about 50 people for an anniversary party. The staff here was amazing! Melissa was always available to help us with the details of the party. Any question we had she answered quickly and was easy to get ahold of. The wait staff the day of the party went above and beyond! I can’t say enough about our servers, Justin and Tiana. They were fast, helpful and very kind. Plus, the food was great! Thanks so much to Melissa, Justin and Tiana for making this party amazing!
We had reservations for dinner later in the evening so we (1 of 2 couples) showed up about 45 minutes earlier for some drinks. The bar staff was beyond amazing. The 4 of us had dinner... my mother taught me to say nothing if I didn't have anything good to say.The bar staff was awesome. Drinks were excellent.
We had a party of 12 that became a party of 11 that became a party of 14. Tarrants was happy to adjust as we got closer to our event. Once we arrived, the space was not tight at all. Our server (Aspaceous) was very accommodating and didn't pressure us to order quickly, despite it being Valentines weekend. When we ordered, the food came out within 15-20 minutes and was so delicious! I had the surf and turf and I saw lots of seafood entrees at our table. Everyone had a great time and we truly thank Tarrants for providing the space to fare our friend well as she leaves for bigger things! Truly, a night to remember!
Had a great brunch. Food was delicious and service was efficient.
Great venue, great food, Great service!
