I just love Ruby Scoops! I’ve had flights there, their ice cream waffle sundae (snagged a bite of my boyfriend’s order, he almost didn’t let me, it’s that good!) and also ordered special Valentine’s Day pints when they had them on offer. They make vegan ice cream that is out of this world good. I’m not vegan myself but I just had to try a few vegan flavors and was pleasantly surprised that they were creamy and rich just like dairy ice cream. Their sorbet flavors are also really tasty, nice smooth consistency and really flavorful. Their take home pints are also really fresh, it definitely is many levels above any other store bought “premium” pints you can find in the grocery store. I love having a local ice cream spot so close to my neighborhood (I’m in Henrico right outside of Northside.) Employees are quick to get orders ready and friendly. If you’re in the neighborhood or just want some good ice cream stop by and get something amazing!
AMAZING! i cannot speak more highly of this place. Was looking for a nice vegan ice cream place and boy i was not let down. We got my new favorite ice cream, cookie butter, as a vegan milkshake (aka liquid crack) and my son loved and favored his vegan milkshake with butter pecan which i do have to say made me second guess my favorite. They also have vegan cookies and can make ice cream sandwiches with them! Everything is made in house and its black and locally owned. Proud to be a new lifetime supporter of this incredible business. Customer service is also 100% very pleasant and attentive.
I scream! You scream! We should ALL scream for Ruby Scoops Ice Cream & Sweets. Visiting this sweet place was the highlight of my day (surprise from the husbae ) & I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed EVERY flavor. We purchased their flight option since we couldn’t decide on one flavor. They have dairy & non dairy options & also unique flavors. We came on a Thursday and weren’t too busy so that was PERFECT! The decor is super cute and the customer service was great.Our top flavors were:Grapefruit Tarragon Sorbet ???Banana Puddin’ ???Grasshopper Pie ???Mango Sorbet ???Butter Pecan (I tasted some coffee in there but it was cool) ??Lemon Berry Sorbet ??And that’s why we had to get the flight. We throughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back.
Amazing small batch fresh yummy ice cream! We had a flight to taste different flavors and each one was delicious! Customer service was amazing as well! The cornbread ice cream is perfection!!!
We checked out Ruby Scoops Ice Cream & Sweets today. Why didn’t I know about this place? It was delicious. I had the sampler. It was way too much food with lunch, but good thing we have a 16 year old garbage disposal named Adrian at home. My rankings of Ruby Scoops by flavor:1. Chocolate (probably the best in Richmond. Reminiscent of our trip to Italy)2. Grapefruit with Tarragon. (Sounds weird, but delicious with beautiful color)3. Dulce de leche (I’m not a huge fan of any caramel to be honest, but this was delicious)4. Cookie butter (I think it’s called. Super skeptical about this one. My wife thought it was the best. Hard to describe. Little crispies of caramel sugar and butter is what it tasted like)5. Guava (nice taste great mouth feel)6. Vanilla (for me, vanilla is normally for pie, but this one was really good.7. Mixed berry with banana - this would have been much higher because I love a mixed berry, but not huge on banana.8. Vegan ice cream anyone?!? This spot is so darling, the owner has beautiful energy & the service was quick! She had some amazing flavors, mimosa anyone, & prices are decent. Have a sweet tooth check out this woman owned black business! Peace, love & light!
Great service, delicious ice cream. As someone lactose intolerant who loves ice cream, this is the only place in Richmond I don't feel like I'm settling for something dairy-free (or an afterthought sorbet). They make dairy-free ice creams and sorbets, all rich, flavorful, and delicious. Don't get me wrong, the regular dairy ice creams are fabulous, too.
Lord have mercy! Everything was amazing! The customer service! The vegan options! The homemade cookies! Sheesh! I’ll definitely be back…like next week! Lol oh and the icing on the cake is that it’s Black Owned!:)

It’s simply the best ice cream I’ve ever had. It’s slightly different than other ice cream I’ve had, but that’s what makes it better and so great. It’s somehow creamier.
