The Best Pad Thai I had in Richmond. Ruang Thong was very underrated, I tried other Thai food that are much popular even drove to West End but I did not get the authentic flavor I had in Ruang Thong. The staff was very nice and they will make you feel they love you being there in their restaurant. There's a wait when we were there but they explained they are short staffed and it is understandable but our food came out fresh and delicious, so no complains!
We had another very good meal at Ruang Tong. The fresh Spring rolls and satay appetizers were generous and quite tasty. The salmon with ginger special was very good as was the pad Thai noodle dish . The portions were large enough to take some home. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming.
This was our second visit but it will not be our last. We tried a variety of appetizers (Crying Tiger flank steak, Tom Ka soup, a pork salad, and Emerald noodles (chicken). Wait staff was very friendly and it came out pretty quickly. Everything was fresh and delicious! We were the only dine-in order so we basically had the place to ourselves, but this is a hidden gem!
Go! Great atmosphere! Authentic cuisine bursting with flavor! Curry, Stirfry, Nightly Specials - Chef’s Choice! My favorite Thai restaurant in Greater Richmond…
This is hands down the best and most authentic Thai cuisine restaurant in Richmond. I've tried several, and keep recommending Ruang Tong. My personal favorites are the Tom Kha soup, Pad Thai, and Pad See Ew. The restaurant tends to be quiet, but still it is a great place for groups. Really good service, good prices, and plenty of parking available.
Green curry with tofu is spicy but so good. My favorite in Richmond. Forest curry also great
Everything about this restaurant is really great. The people here were excellent. Food was perfect. Go eat here, you will be happy you did.
First time visitor. Friendly service. Food placed in person for take out was ready in about 25 mins or so. Food was hot. Spring rolls very yummy along with the peanut sauce but I removed a star because they contained a large hard looked like a seed of some sort that should not be in a roll and something I chomped down on unexpectedly. I don't know what it was. Drunken noodles were good but I forgot to share my desired spice and was not asked. The beef and veggies in the noodles were great too. I will return.
Awesome Thai food from a quiet, family owned restaurant. Extremely friendly service. Best Pad Thai I've had and the Pineapple Fried Rice was stellar as well.
I gave eaten here multiple times and I am genuinely impressed with the staff and cuisine.I have eaten Thai food in cities in four states and overseas. My favorite dish is Gang Ku Wan or Green Curry Chicken. This restaurant simply has the best of that dish that I have ever eaten. So good in fact that I can get it medium-high on spice and the full flavor of the food balances it out. These is cultural iconography on the walls and a small room at the entrance dedicated to welcoming clients in Thai fashion. If you have time, ask the female owner (it's a mother and son operation) to tell you about the statues and other items on the wall, as each one has sentimental value for her.Her son is full of positive energy and is genuinely happy you chose to come into their establishment.Folks, as a disclaimer, there are only two of them. And if you had ever eaten in an Asian food restaurant overseas you would find that you have to wait sometimes for the check as it is more traditional for them that a patron would sit and spend time at their table relaxing and digesting their meal before leaving.I highly recommend the Mango Lassi yogurt drink during your meal and the deserts such as the mango sticky rice are heavenly.~Zack
