Came all the way from Varina for a Roy's big Burger. I got there at 5:50pm there were two people working ( the same number of people work the lunch crowd) ! The gentleman working behind the glass and ignored me for trm minutes before telling me they were closed due to lack of help! I was the only person in line no crowd or anything like that. Hey just tell me you didn't want to stay open don't lie to me!! Carrytown Burgers and fries were delicious! I would suggest going there for an awesome burger
BAD customer service, Closed 40 minutes early (5:50 pm on a monday) when we were next in line. They turned off their light and closed the window told us the person in front of us was their last customer of the day. Was not apologetic or empathetic, gave no reason why, just rude. Also does not have any restrooms and outside was not clean. This was very frustrating as my hungry family of 6 & I passed by several other places to eat driving back to Quantico after vacationing at to Virginia Beach. The place was way out of our way but wanted to try it because the photos of the burgers were amazing. After the rude and possibly racist motivated treatment, I will not be going out of my way again.
Great burger joint! Not the cheapest place, but the food is definitely worth it. Outdoor, walk up restaurant. We have been coming here for years, sometimes we grab and go to Bryd Park, which is pretty much next door or just grab a table right on the premises. They have a new spot in the back, with few picnic tables and planted trees. My kids really love the fried Mac n' cheese. We normally grab some onion rings and fries with our burgers. You can the burgers anyway you want, but I do like the "All the way". There is usually a line, but they are pretty quick. In the summer, we will grab a ice cream for dessert. It's been around forever, which tells you how good it is, truly has stood the test of time. Stop in, grab a bite, you'll be happy.
Decent burger made fresh in front of you. Standard burger is similar to burgers from the Whataburger chain found in other Southern states. Fries look hand cut and fried well. Could have used a little salt to fit my taste. Not the cheapest place but not as expensive as some other burger places around town. 2 double meat cheese burgers, a large fry and two large drinks was around $28.There's no dining room. You order and pick up at the walkup window. There are some picnic tables to eat at or you can take advantage of the parking lot and eat in your car if the weather isn't good.
Outdoor seating only with a walk up counter. There are better looking burgers to be found, but if you just want an excellent burger on the run it's hard to beat. WAY better than any fast food and really quick service even when it's crowded, which it usually is. If you're really hungry try the double with cheese and bacon, but they also have a triple and a 4x... ouch! Onion rings are always great and I prefer them over the fries.
Was it a good burger? Yeah. Was it the best burger I've ever had? No. Definitely a little pricey for me since you pay for everything separately. It was almost $30 for me and husband to eat. 2 burgers, large fries, and a large drink. But it's worth a try if you're on that side of town.
I love going to Roy’s big burger. They have great burgers and fry’s
Double cheeseburger looked so good I didn't have a chance to take a picture of it...J.S.A.
The food here is good I have been coming here since I was a kid and the food is just the way I remember delicious.
