Best experience I’ve ever had in a hotel!! The valet team was awesome. I’d like to thank Saed and the valet team for their wonderful customer service! They were very kind and helpful. Definitely coming back!

This review was prompted by the service provided by three employees at this location. First, as a resident of Richmond, it was not a necessity that I pay for lodging but a convenience. As a sub-committee co-chair for the South Atlantic Regional Conference of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., it made sense for me to stay in close proximity to the GRCC since we were expecting an attendance just shy of 3000 women and there was a lot to be done by the host chapter. Knowing I would be extremely busy, I requested an early checkin, but that did not happen (Strike 1!) I provided my information and was told I would be called when my room was available. I was not called. (Strike 2!) Hours later, when I returned from setting up at GRCC, the registration line was out of the door. I approached a young lady, told her all my information had been provided earlier. She asked that I provide my name and she would assist me as soon as she finished with her current customers. Upon finishing the registration with her customers, true to her word, she looked up my information, told me my room was ready, went to retrieve my multiple pieces of luggage from the storage room, AND assisted me getting my luggage to my room!!!! Once everything was in the room, I thanked her and was handing her a tip which she promptly refused to accept. Unbelievable! I could not refrain from telling everyone about her efficiency and commitment AND that she refused a tip, which is unheard of. Later that evening, coming in from an activity, I decided I would describe her to whoever was on duty in hope of obtaining her name. Approaching the registration area, who should walk out of a back office but TAYLOR G., the very young woman who had impressed me. The next morning and ensuing mornings, we encountered another exemplary, upbeat staffer. MISS ANNA in the M Club was all about business and making certain everyone had what they needed and more. She was very cordial speaking to everyone. She greeted everyone who entered and was in constant motion making certain everything was properly stocked or replenished. She made you feel like you were someone with whom she was acquainted. Lastly, ISIS in the Fall Line Restaurant was a most attentive server and apologetic when our food did not come out in a timely manner. Surely not her fault as the restaurant was probably overwhelmed by all of the women in crimson and cream in addition to others who were not with our conference. The exemplary service provided by these three women redeemed Marriott's two strikes given earlier in this review and my 5-star review is based on the service provided by them, not the hotel! Again, this review was prompted by my personal interaction with Taylor G., Anna and Isis. As for the Marriott, its renovations made our stay quite comfortable. I was way too busy to take advantage of any of its amenities but I would recommend a stay there for friends coming from out of town.

From checking in to checking out the valet service/team was superb! Friendly excellent speedy service! No complaints, everyone waiting was very complimentary. Joe and team did a great job! Keep up the great team work!

Miller McCarty was by far the most respectful young man i have come across when staying places out of town. It was so nice to have someone make sure that all of our needs were met and still have a smile on his face even though he must have been tired and wet because of the rain! I would 10/10 recommend him.

I was traveling to New York I had stoped by Richmond, I stopped by the Marriott and miller came up to my car helped me with my bags got me an umbrella because it was raining, I also went to get something to eat the same day and miller helped me find somewhere to eat and I loved the food. All in all he is a great employee.

Great all around. I had to personally call them my children. Your valet men aka my children treated me like a mom. I have no children, so to be taken care of, with my luggage, breathing machine and my clunker of a car. Dwayne grabbed a bottle of water for me because of my AC DOES NOT WORK. Also Nick took my belongings directly to my room for me. There was another male very tall he cleared the way for me to be out of the sun. And all of this sunshine(happiness) came the day before my birthday. Marriott thanks for the beautiful stay. Now on to Kansas

I traveled though Virginia on yesterday and I stayed at your beautiful hotel. Lots and lots of traffic everywhere. Traffic, pedestrians and even guests at the hotel. Just want to say through the mist of all of that. You guys are still A1. I got a chance to chit chat with a few of the beautiful ladies that graced the lobby. Your valet guys had something on their hands yesterday and executed it perfectly. I saw your guys pushing elder women in wheelchairs to scooters. I saw luggage everywhere. But nothing broke their smiles and energy. This should be a 5 star hotel if it isn’t already.

Saed was awesome. Very friendly and fast. He helped with directions. He helped with my luggage and made sure I had everything before I left. He definitely made the experience great. The entire crew was great.

We decided to check out the Richmond area and do a little shopping and take an unofficial college tour of VCU in late July. Being unfamiliar to the area, we decided to stay at the Richmond Marriott because of the prime location. From the moment we arrived, until the valet delivered our car upon checkout, our experience was exceptional. I'm not sure we've ever had a 10 out of 10 employee rating at any hotel, but the staff at this location are far above average. I'm very aware of customer service, and this property excelled at every interaction as if they were thrilled we had arrived! The property itself is located minutes from everything! Short Pump shopping, the AMAZING Carytown area which I highly recommend spending time there, VCU, and right across from the Convention Center, everything is so close and convenient. The valet was efficient, the on site restaurant was exceptional, and the hotel is clean and comfortable with everything you'd expect from a Marriott property. The beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom nicely appointed. We are very much looking forward to visiting Richmond again in the near future, and wont look further than the Marriott for our stay!

I checked online for an air bnb for my family and I quickly changed my mind. I stayed here pre Covid and I loved it, I had to come back. To my amazement the place is renovated. I love it even more. Also loved the atmosphere it felt like family. Sorry I didn’t pay attention to the names but your valet guys were very very helpful. With a medical boot on one foot and these four eyes that barely see I was truly ecstatic to find true gentleman willing to help.
