One of the best pizza joints around. Really, really love the pizza but for this trip we had the Burrata Platter and the Salad #1. The salad consisted of baby arugula, prosciutto de parma, shaved parmesan, and balsamic. Wow, wow, wow.Great people, great place, amazing food. They really have about the best pizza I have ever had and their house made gelato is incredible. Been to both Arlington and Richmond, both synonymous with incredible eats. GO!
The pizza was thin and crispy, tomato base was rich and dense, ingredients were fresh and tasteful. Definitely recommended.
I wish I was happier. All ingredients were great. But all three pizzas were floppy as if they were reheated in a microwave. I know that is not the case but they all seem under done by 2 min probably. It is thin. It's in my oven now. So, I just have to throw it in my toaster oven for a few to give the crust some crisp. I hate leaving reviews like this. I can only eat pizza once a week now anyway due to sodium restrictions. Nbd but annoying when your pizza isn't quite right. I am extremely familiar with Neapolitan style pizza. This was just off and probably not a common problem, so do try it out. This is just my experience.
I liked the taste of the pizza, but, for the price, I didn't think it was amazing. The taste was alright, but it was a small portion and somewhat more than I would have liked to pay. Also, it was very very crowded! Every seat in the place was full so we ended up sitting beside people we didn't come with. The whole place seemed over-hyped to me. Also, my girlfriend threw up her food as soon as we got home ? She said she felt like it may have been from something in the pizza, but she wasn't sure. I think, overall, she liked the taste of the pizza though.
Great flavor, texture could be better, my hadn't a crispy crust. Friggitoria sampler is also good. The staff is nice.
Found this hidden gem while searching for dinner before a Richmond Broadway show at the Altria Theater (it's a 5-minute walk from the venue). This place has a genuine wood-fired hearth oven and makes a decent Neapolitan pizza (they even use buffalo milk mozzarella!). My only complaint was that the oven was running a little cool as the bottoms of my pizzas were not charred as would normally be expected. But, the cornicione (outer edge) was perfectly charred with some leoparding visible (which is a good thing). The red sauce was simple and had a good flavor. My Margherita DOC was very good, but needed a tad more fresh basil on it. The restaurant itself is pretty basic, you order and pay at the register and they bring your food to the table. They do (thankfully) have a basic beer and wine list. All in all, my wife and I will be returning here before each Broadway show. I just hope the oven is up to proper temperature next time as this could easily turn into my favorite pizzeria in Richmond (yes, I'm a pizza snob and run a pizzamaking website lol).
Just as delicious as the original spot in Northern Virginia. These pizzas are the bomb dot com. I just wish there were one in Norfolk or Hampton Roads! Great service, great pizza, nice atmosphere. And a parking lot in downtown Richmond. Fabulous!
Fantastic service, great place and great food. You can't go wrong doing the classics right and using great ingredients! We had the caprese salad, bursting with a ton of ripe tomatoes and Buffalo mozzarella! Then the diavola pizza and white spinach pizza, almost felt like we were back in Italy! Thanks!
My new favorite! Get the bruschetta!!! Quiet, clean, quaint space. Draft beer!!! Must eat here!
Nice small and quiet place. Had no idea what neapolitan pizza was, but after trying the authentic wood fired Italian pies they prepared for us, I was hooked. Service left a bit to be desired but the food was amazing.
