This was my first time visiting this restaurant. I always wanted to eat there, so my family and I tried it, it was EXCELLENT!! the service was on point and was very helpful with menu choices. The menu has a lot of selections. The restaurant was VERY clean everyone enjoy and love their food choices ?. I know we will return back again. Thanks

SEE PICS OF MONEY TRAYS LEFT UNATTENDED FOR ANYONE TO STEAL.The tableside guacamole was great. Expertly prepared and naturally good. We got the seafood chimichangas and the Chimichanga Texanas. The steak was tough and dry. It was a cheap cut of meat. The seafood chimi was ok. Not crisp. It was mediocre at best. They get a 1 star rating because after collecting the cash and credit cards from our group of 14, the waiter LEFT ALL OF THE PAYMENT TRAYS UNATTENDED on a tray stand and went to go take orders for another large group. After watching this for several minutes I got up and took the payment trays and walked inside the restaurant (we were sitting outside) and asked for the manager. ANYONE could have TAKEN the cash and credit cards. I had them in my possession for over 10 min and none of the staff even noticed that they were gone. This was the most egregious example of greed and irresponsibility that I have ever seen. The waiter was so greedy to take more orders and make more money that he left all of our credit cards and cash open to theft. They didn't give us any refills on our water ever though we were completely out. They gave us no silverware (we got up and went inside and got our own), they didn't bring us any hot sauce, (we had to go get our own), nor did they check on us. Not even once. My food was cold. BUT THEY DIDNT CARE BECAUSE THEY ADDED THE GRATUITY ON TO THE BILL They should have tipped me for waiting on myself.

We got here 15 minutes before they closed. We wanted to do take out to not be an inconvenience. Waiter told us kitchen closes 10 minutes early and that it was not enough time for us to order any food for take out.I guess they need to adjust their real hours of operations ?Stay way

I had a business meeting in Richmond today and got done around noon. I was in the mood for Mexican food so I gave this place a try. For being lunch time, I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't have to wait for a table. I ordered the Supreme Enchiladas. The enchiladas were very disappointing. The wraps didn't taste good at all, and they had a doughy texture. And the fillings also were not at all authentic tasting. Although the food was brought out timely, the waiter was not at all attentive. I had asked him for extra napkins, but he never brought them to my table. In fact, he didn't come back to the table at all until I was done eating. When he finally did return, all he said was, "are you done?" He didn't ask if the meal was okay, or if I wanted anything else. As far as prices, I thought they were reasonable. But my overall impression was two stars at best, and I feel like that's being generous.

this will be my last time attending plaza azteca on Broad street. I went there last night with a friend. As soon as our waitress seated us, she asked us where we ready to order. It felt like we were being rushed. Then they took almost 20 minutes to bring the food out. When they brought the food out my fish tacos were cold. I asked the waitress could I have some fresh tacos. Her response was “Do you want us to rewarm them or do you want fresh ones? “. I asked for fresh tacos. When she brought the plate back it was the same plate I had before, and I saw where I had bit off the taco. I asked to speak to the manager and they gave me fresh ones. When they brought the plate back the tacos were not good they were not seasoned well. The manager didn’t even offer me to take the tacos off of my bill I had to ask at the end. He was acting suspicious of me and said that he needed to check with the waitress first but they ended up refunding me my money. I will not be eating here again they rush people and they do not take time to make the food correctly.

We went out for my son's birthday. He tried some new foods. Some he liked, some he didn't but I was glad he tried new things. The service was amazing. The server was very atyentive. My only complaint is that there are only 2 salad dressings offered a raspberry and an avocado. Would have preferred a few more options but the salads were fresh and the entrees were good.

Todo muy rico, excelente servicio ☺️☺️☺️

Great atmosphere, and the host was welcoming we were a party of 6 and we were seated quickly. The food was ... Anemic. The soft drinks were initially slow to arrive but refills were prompt. The server ... Disinterested and was not ....I am not likely to return.

I went here to celebrate a friends birthday and they surprised me by having a vegan menu, It was nice to not have to get a salad because there's nothing else. Bravo Plaza Aztecs for including both.I got the vegan tacos, it's 3 soft tacos, with vegan cheese, meatless meta, lettuce , tomatoes, avocado.. and while it tasted great, the shells all fell apart while trying to eat it. That was a bummer, but I just grabbed a fork and ate it anyway since the taste was good. I just couldn't enjoy the taco shell. I had a side of plantains, they were really good and a nice size portion to share with the table too. Last but not least, that margarita... whooo...let me tell you something.. you don't want to have more than one and drive. These are strong and yummy. I had the blue margarita and I ENJOYED EVERY BIT OF THAT BIG DRINK.

Food is fairly good, but everything is extremely expensive compared to pretty much every other Mexican restaurant in RVA, many of which are better than Plaza Azteca. Service depends solely on your server, so it's very inconsistent. Today, our server was horrible, even though we were his only table, but the server with the tables next to us was awesome. Don't even get me started on the fact that they mopped the bathroom floors and didn't put any signage in the bathroom - I was in tennis shoes and slid and fell, so the majority of customers in there at the time would have had it much worse if they'd gone in the bathroom.
