Ok. This my first time being at this location. Me and my hubby went to get brunch. Nice set up inside. Parking tight. The pancakes I ordered ( not a breakfast eater but love pancakes) well, the pancakes taste like cake batter and was not cooked all the way thru, it was pasty and gummy in the middle it fell apart as you cut . To the owner just a tip from a pancakes lover. Pls just use regular pancakes batter . The batter you used was too sweet and tastes like cake batter! Ok now, my hubby had the pork chops platter w/ fried potatoes ,eggs and bacon he didn't like it . The chops were cooked to hard and dry, potatoes tasted bland , eggs ok, bacon it's was ok too. Well we gave em a try. Will not be back. The taste of the food was not very pleasing!We visited in May '22 on a Sunday!
My daughter and I had lunch here. The restaurant was about half full and the wait staff was busy but friendly and efficient. We had Josh, who was very good and helpful. I had BLT and corn fritters, sweet tea with lemon. My daughter had Club sandwich with corn fritters, sweet tea. Everything was good. The prices were great & the food was good. We will be back !!!!!!! The benches & chairs could use refinishing, and the floor could be painted.
Upon arrival I saw that there was a little wait so I went to the bar where there was open seating first come first serve. Once I said down the waitress Miranda came right over to greet me and gave me a menu. She answered all the questions that I had concerning the new menu and certain new menu items. Once I placed my order my food came out in a timely fashion just as I had requested. The food was absolutely amazing! Miranda came back periodically to check on me to make sure that I was okay. There's nothing like good food and great customer service. You can get it all here at McLean's Restaurant! I look forward to coming back and tasting different items on their menu.
Great service. I was about to leave a generous tip until I noticed that a 20% was already on the check. Could be that there was a warning on the menu that the tip would be included. I prefer to choose my own tip so as to reflect my opinion of the service. The service was great. An employee went into the men's room ahead of me. I didn't hear the hand dryer nor the was the handle on the faucet wet. I hope that they will attend to that.
This was our first time. Food was good and came out in decent amount of time. Service was okay. We did not like the required 20% tip that was automatically added to our bill. This wasn't known before we ordered. Afterwards we found a small sign on the door stating it. Service was not outstanding to deserve this. The waiter told us that it was because people did not tip, but this is an unacceptable amount. I will think about this before I go there again.
We visited this restaurant about a year ago and was good, we were in Richmond this past Friday and decided to stop by again. Ordered and received fish cold like inside was still frozen. Sent back and ordered meat loaf instead that was not like any meatloaf I had ever eat. Service was ok but food was not good.My wife only took a bite of it and couldn’t eat it. We will not go back
I had great service and I love the menu. The food is always good although one has to doctor the grits a bit. Otherwise, great lil breakfast spot. I have issue with the back of house being people of color while the front of house is not. Coincidence, maybe. Workers seem to be treated fairly but I've noticed this every time I've eaten here.
The country boy platter was great. But, the Philly steak omelet was very disappointing...instead of having real steak pieces, they used steakums...needless to say it was an unpleasant surprise. I doubt the hubby and I will return. Especially for the price, you don't receive real steak. Sorry friends...
This time I was able to finish it all and they weren't dry. I opted for french fries instead of homefries. Delicious! And the turkey bacon was also good.
I was a little disappointed because I asked for my eggs to be scrambled soft and my bacon to be limp and that dud not happen. But my waitress was super nice so it cushioned my disappointment. I've been going for years and I will continue. Usually the food is on point so nothing is perfect all the time.
