My boyfriend and I was in town visiting for a wedding and we stopped here for brunch. Overall, the food was great. I have no complaints with the food, however, the wait was unacceptable. Food: I ordered French Toast & Eggs. My boyfriend had chicken and waffles. We both really enjoyed our foods. Very tasty. Service: We waited extremely too long. After I noticed people was coming in after us and received their order, that’s when I knew I had to get up and say something. We had an older lady as our waitress. She was nice, but she was doing way too much and I believe she forgot to put our order in. She even got my boyfriend’s order wrong because he asked for “no bone-in” chicken for his waffles and he was presented with “bone-in” chicken. It was explained, that the wait was for the “bone-in” but that wasn’t our order from the start, so that was very disappointing. But the customer service came in when another waitress helped (she had locs) & wore a DC T-shirts. I will never forget how helpful she was. She turned my frown from upside down. We had a great conversation about Marvel. If it wasn’t for her, I would’ve gave 1 star. Parking: We took Uber, but it’s street parking. No lot. Overall: I would return, because it is a nice spot. However, I do not want to be waited by the older waitress that we encountered.
We really enjoyed our experience this morning. The staff was very nice and friendly. The baked chicken was the star of my meal. The chicken was so juicy and was seasoned well. I will definitely be back and telling all my family and friends.
Fantastic food and staff! Extremely friendly people who go out of their way to make you feel at home. Delicious “manmosa” and huge pieces of chicken with those delicious waffles. Get the Maple Bourbon syrup it’s out of this warm. The grits are excellent. I’m in food heaven y’all!
You have to try this downhome, friendly, and delicious spot. I had the One Mo'Gin (Waffle and chicken wings) with the Brown Sugar Maple syrup and it was like being wrapped in comfort. The waffle with the syrup was hands down the best I ever had and the chicken wings (that must have come from the biggest chicken in Virgina) were cooked to perfection. On top of the amazing food, the service was so friendly and the local art on the walls gave the restaurant a great local community vibe. Thank you all for a great birthday brunch meal!
Had a couple mimosas and a waffle, I had a great time reading the menu I thought it was really fun the names of each meal. The atmosphere was really nice too and the nice lady that took our order was very friendly as well. The food took a little while but it was worth it.
The chicken and waffles were the best I’ve ever had in my life. The brown sugar butter syrup was so spectacular I’ll be thinking about it forever. The waitress was amazing too. Wish I had caught her name so I could talk her up. Really great service. Great experience.
This is the second time I visited this restaurant. Both times the owner and staff provided a professional, warm, great food and hospitalbe experience. The Bet you by golly wow and the Can we talk are Awesome. Those are the names of the sandwiches. As someone in the service industry for many years, I recognize and appreciate outstanding service. Please keep up that great momentum! I appreciate you ladies!
All the food was good, but the fried chicken and grits were amazing, tasted just like homemade. Carolyn was our server, she made us feel at home even though we were just passing through. Music and ambience were great, any place that plays Donny Hathaway gets extra points in my book. Will definitely stop here again next time we're in Richmond!
Absolutely ? food and vibe. Went here twice on my trip to Richmond. Chicken and waffles with the maple butter bourbon syrup ???.
Amazing food and great service! Novice was an amazing server, super helpful with suggestions and very friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed my time and food at maple bourbon! Consider pitchers of mimosas- enjoyed my mimosa glass but would love a pitcher deal!
