Took me a long time to finally check this place out. It won't take long to go back. Excellent! And great beer choices.
Prices went up and food portions got smaller. Wait staff is very nice.Update 6/2022: Another new owner. Definitely better than the previous owner, and one of the better options for sushi within the city limits. Crunch roll was bad. Sashimi tasted fine but was small. Wontons were not good. Sushi was also fine. Server was very nice lady.
Level used to be our go to sushi place. Not after dinner on May 16, 2022. Level has a new menu, and many items have spicy mayo which I do not like, always ask them to leave off. Asked our server specifically what was the special sauce on the new Oshi roll. She said it did not have spicy mayo, but there was a tiny bit in the spicy tuna, very little. My partner said "you got that last time," and I said "no, don't think so, but if it's just a tiny amount, I'll try it cuz it has so much stuff in it to mask the taste." Server brought food and left. My $28 roll was doused in spicy mayo. When she came back I asked why was this swimming in a sauce I clearly said I did not like. It was not listed in menu description either. She would not take it away after I told her I could not eat it and after repeated returns to our table. She brought check, and yep, she charged me $28 for it and asked if I wanted her to wrap it up to go. What? Asked her to explain why she expected me to pay for it. Would have been different if I had eaten it. She actually said she could not take it off the check "because your husband said you ate it before." So what the man says makes the woman's very clear request irrelevant? He's not eating it, I am. She said the manager was not back until Wed, so she could not take it off the bill, but she could take off 15%. How do you have authority to take off a percentage, but you can't void an entree? Btw, she was standing at sushi bar while this $28 thing was being made. Why didn't she say something to the chef? Is this what a reputable restaurant does when it is their mistake?
This place did not look like much from the outside, however the inside looks like and is a wonderful Japanese and Hibachi restaurant. The food is outstanding and stunningly beautiful to see. The Sushi was beautiful in the color combinations and in the blend of flavors. Additionally the beer selection was great and diverse.
I stopped by on a recommendation...the beer was warm, he calamari was over cooked, and I've had better Spider Rolls at Sushi Kola in Fredericksburg. Also the service absolutely sucked. We were stuck in the back and the bartender was our waiter. Cool decor though. Very upscale Sweet Frog lighting.
Lively and busy sushi restaurant. We had a sushi boat and all of the fish seemed very fresh. Would definitely recommend.
My husband and I were craving sushi. Level came highly recommended by many different sites and groups. We were not disappointed. The sushi selection was superb and the presentation even better. The staff was great. There is something for everyone at Level.
The sushi was very fresh and delicious! Presentation was very cute! Ginger dressing on the salad was amazing! Wonton soup with the mini wontons was amazing! Atmosphere was cute! Would love to go back for Dinner! Highly recommend!
Picked up three rolls for takeout Friday based on some suggestions by my coworkers the sushi wasn't bad but definitely didn't hit the spot. I'd try it again for dine in to see if the quality is better
Very good sushi! Friendly service. Will come back soon!
