This is the best Chicken pot pie I’ve ever had. Including all the family homemade efforts. So delicious!!
We just had the Fishermans pie for Christmas dinner and it was out of this world delicious! I love everything from here, but this was especially good.

Leek & Thistle is the newest gem of Shockoe Bottom! The staff is the kindest out there and continuously go above and beyond for anyone that stops by. They have a diverse selection of wine and “take and go” dinners. I’m so impressed how much they can fit into this quaint place. Make sure to try a Pecan Pie Bar while you’re there! Couldn't recommend it enough!!
If not for Mela's food, I would probably not eat very much. I discovered her about 3'years ago at St Stephen's Farmer's Market. She makes food that awakens your taste buds. Her veggie dishes make me actually like vegetables!Her seasonal Gazpacho is always fun! But her Back to Basics Chicken Pot Pie is unmatchable!

I saw this store had finally opened, so I stopped in to check it out! They carry homemade, local products, mainly prepared frozen and refrigerated meals, as well as quite the wine collection. Everyone was very friendly, and they offered me a free food sample! I got a ciabatta sandwich, a few soups to try, and their blackberry rhubarb crumble. The coconut curry sweet potato bisque was so delicious!!! I'm not even much of a soup person, but I really enjoyed it - and since it's a bisque, you could also use it as a drizzle atop other dishes. I also really enjoyed the blackberry rhubarb crumble.They have a variety of options for different dietary preferences (for instance, the curry bisque was vegan and gluten free, from what I can tell on the ingredients list).So yummy, and I'll definitely be coming back to try more of their offerings, like their chicken pot pie and their local loose leaf tea!
Thrilled that this spot is now open-- I love all the grab and go options, and I like that there is a robust vegetarian section in addition to some pretty scrumptious looking meat entrees. I appreciate that they're open into the evenings so I have time to grab something after work. Everyone was gracious and Robert took the time to show me around the shop. Can't wait to go back!
