Incredible experience! I love the variety of wines they have-- interesting enough to titillate the senses of a wine connoisseur but welcoming enough to folks taking their first dive into the wine world. I think it's the least pretentious wine shop around town while still holding down a wide selection of wines. The charcuterie is to die for!! They slice their meats in house and have really good quick pickles. If you get a smattering of meats and cheeses, I love that a staff member will share the names and explain each component of the plate/board, if you like. Even the greens for the salad special were amazingly fresh. The high quality, well thought-through food menu that compliments their wines reminds me that they're a sister restaurant to Grisette (same owners). The atmosphere is top notch. There's plenty of seating on the covered patio. When I first visited in cooler weather, they had space heaters outside. Note that they don't really have any tables inside to sit down-- just the standing bar in the middle of the shop, where you place your order. If you're visiting for the first time, know that you essentially enter the doors into a basement/lower level, underneath the stairs to another building. Then, you order and pop back out and up to the patio.Parking nearby can be a bit tricky; be prepared to walk a ways from your vehicle if you're driving into town.As for what wine to get, their selection is always rotating, but the dry sparkling wines are always a delight. Big fan of the Pra Soave that was recommended; it had a dry floral flavor with a little zippy fizz-- perfect patio white wine for a hot day. It was so good that I bought another bottle to go! Any white or rosé they have on the shelf in the shop, they also have cold, so you're not limited to what's on the board.Definitely recommend chatting with their knowledgeable staff members to narrow down what will best fit your palate, but also because you'll probably learn something new about wine, too! ?? ?

We live outside Richmond, but found Jardin as it is right around the corner from our daughters’ place at VCU. Our first time there was a little confusing, but we figured out we had to seat ourselves then go down to the basement to order our wine and food. Once we got the hang fo the place it was all good. We have since joined the wine club, and really like the wines that Donnie, Jake, and the Cru pick out. We love the newsletter that they put out to describe the wine, and the “drink with; while listening to, etc.”. So not only are we learning about wine, we are learning about music as we generally will play the songs they recommend on Spotify when we open the wine.

I was pretty underwhelmed. I was really hoping for something more with such a great spot. The cellar was cute, but dingy. Staff seemed like they still weren’t too sure about everything (wine knowledge)I hope they end up doing fun things with the patio outside and not just leave it as seating. It could be great for weekly events.

Easy to navigate the wine program. Excellent customer service. Food was top notch. Charcuterie, cheese, small snacks and a few sandwiches and salad. Atmosphere really relaxing for an outdoor program.

It was warm enough for us to sit outside. Wonderful cheese and wine. Folks working here are soooo friendly and helpful !!!

Excellent selection with super knowledgeable and passionate wine folks. Disagree with those who say it's overpriced. Wine quality is high, selection interesting, and markup is less than your average restaurant. If you want a watery glass of happy hour Pinot Grigio this place isn't for you.

Top-notch wine bar with an brilliantly-curated selection of wine, cheese, and other tasty morsels that you can enjoy at their bar or on the expansive patio in the heart of Richmond. Their sister restaurant, Grisette, is arguably one of the best restaurants in Richmond. Check them both out!

Extremely cozy and warm atmosphere! Don’t go if you are not trying to spend a lot of money though haha. I spent almost $90 (including tips) on everything you see in this picture plus one more glass of wine, but it was super tasty and everyone was really nice!

Nice atmosphere for an interesting glass or two of wine.

Really cozy underground place. Chill vibe. I picked up a tasty bottle of Bordeaux. Can't wait for warmer weather to sit outside in the garden
