My friend got the salmon dinner meal. It was very fresh and tasty even though the salmon was plain. The stuffed peppers was good but the spicy tuna was warm/partially cooked, which was a little weird.Sushi was good.
I can see why this place is so highly rated! 2nd best sushi place I've had in Richmond behind Hanami Sushi in Innsbrook but they closed :/My wife and I's first time here and we tried 6 different rolls, tuna belly and Yaki Noodles. Everything was fresh and delicious.Highly recommend the gyoza and tempura cheesecake.
I had been going there for probably 10 years and I was never disappointed. Friendly service and great sushi, sashimi, and rolls. However, the restaurant recently changed hands. The changeover started out okay but the last time I was there it was awful. The shrimp tempura and gyoza were literally like rocks. It was the worst sushi I have ever had. I will be looking elsewhere after being a devoted customer for years.
The food is always great. Service is terrific. The fish is fresh and tasty that they use in the sushi. Gyoza was and seaweed salad were delicious. I found this restaurant over 5 years ago and is my goto sushi stop
Old Hiro Sushi sold to NEW owners/NEW STAFF, pretending to be old Hiro Sushi. NEW MENU, GOT DIRTY cups, and was told, "doesn't matter, it's on the outside of the cup." Yelled at me to make up my mind" hurry up". DO NOT TRUST THESE NEW OWNERS. AWFUL!!!!!!!! DISRESPECTFUL! RUDE! MISLEADING. We left.
The restaurant is one you go to for the food and service, not necessarily one for atmosphere. The place is small with minimimal decor, but the staff was good and the food was great, at a reasonable price.
Well… the verdict is in. Definitely disappointed . After reading the reviews about how fresh the Sushi was and the service, definitely was a place I had to check out. Although google said it was busy around this time not so. I ordered the Spicy combo. First impression the salad had been in the refrigerator pre made for about 48 hours uncovered ( pre-made) doesn’t scream fresh. However on most sushi places the miso is so so it was actually very tasty. I know; what you thinking surprising the miso being the highlight of the meal and the Sapporo served nice and cold with a cold glass. Now for the star of the evening the sushi fresh…( negative ghostrider). I mean it was suppose to be spicy tuna, salmon, and crab . The crab I can tell by the imitation look. The tuna and salmon look just alike. So I tried each type of the sushi with nothing no wasabi no soy sauce. dip it in soy sauce..No I couldn’t do it any more rolls falling apart AND THE SUSHI WAS DRY I MEAN DRY WHAT… I never knew that was possible needless to say didn’t finish the meal and I’m a big dude and like to eat.Based on the standard of service that I was given compared to others seemed to be a different caliber. never got checked on asked for my bill waited for 40 minutes just to get it guess they forgot about me seems like o be the theme of the night Lol …..??service . This will being going in the book of places not to go back too. There are other places also got to tell Marriott corporate to not list this as one of the places for dining.
We got a busy response on the UberEats app so we decided to stop by and order - SO GLAD WE DID! Excellent sushi dinner for two, seaweed salad and vegetable tempura. Fresh and delicious!
Very good sushi I had the volcano roll (image below) and clam miso soup but they have ramune soda in the menu but don’t have it so that’s why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 would recommend
Everything was so fresh on the sashimi platter. We also had some rolls which were good as well. We ordered again like a day later for takeout and that came out good as well. Great customer service, very attentive. We'll be back soon
