Reservations are a must or you have to sit at the bar.
Fodd was ok. Tostones were available as a side for one meal and I requested it for mine (a different meal) and they refused. They really don't care about the desire of their customers.
I've been to Havana's many times. This was the first time I have not eaten my food. None of my partie's food was good, it was tasteless. The jackfruit dish was flavorless and just dumped out of a can. The calamari was overcooked and cooked in old oil. The first plaintains we received were burnt and black. The replacements were cold, rubbery and stale. We left unfulfilled and still hungry because no one ate their food. The drinks were also subpar. I'm not sure what happened with the staff, but we were very disappointed. This is NOT the Havana's we knew.
Amazing authentic Latin food! Kind people, wonderful music, and great vibe! Love it!
Ambience was very nice and comfortable. Music was great! It made me want to stand and dance. Service was very good, kind, attentive and very open to feedback.
Cubano Sandwich was really good with the black beans and sweet potato fries.
The food was not good. The prices were to high. The key lime pie was good.

We were sat promptly at 630p and greeted in a timely fashion. Our drinks took a bit of time to get delivered but we were Ok. We placed an appetizer order and that took about 30 minutes. We waited over 2 hours for our entrees and they kept saying 5 more minutes. We ended up leaving at 830p with only having our appetizer. The server was very nice and apologetic but what an embarrassment for a classic Richmond restaurant.
This was my third time at Havana 59. I love the atmosphere and the food. My wife and I had paella and it was excellent. A few years ago I hosted a post-staff meeting dinner for about 15 work colleagues in a private space upstairs and it was great.
