The owners were warm and welcoming and the food was amazing and had so many wonderful flavors, we had the schnitzel and stroganoff and my boys split the spaghetti and meatballs. Everything was perfect, we will definitely be back!
We had two of the specials tonight - lamb stew and salmon. Delicious and bountiful meals and wonderful desserts (as always).
All the reviewers were right — everything on the menu was great. You can hardly go wrong here. When we got there, the owner (who couldn’t be nicer) asked if we were there for just dessert. As we ate dinner, multiple people came in to get desserts to go, so that’s apparently a thing. We took home one of every dessert they had, so we can vouch that all of them were homemade and quite good.Do note that the spanakopita, sausage, and meat in puff pastry were strongly flavored with something like scallion. So if you don’t care for that taste, choose something else delicious from the menu.
Wonderful, homemade, and authentic food served with love and care by husband and wife Adrian & Ligia. Gracious and lovely atomosphere that deeply reminds one of dinners in Europe - family & friend's centered, slow paced, cozy, & immensely enjoyable meal. Our visit here was the highlight of our trip up to Richmond. The other diners were immensely friendly as well, and my daughter loved getting to speak a little German with Helmut, who told us he is the "unofficial photographer" of the restaurant. We were honored to have been able to dine here, and will return again when in the area. Just a wonderful dining experience!
I could not make up my mind--so I took home lots of different foods. All were excellent. The crepes and desserts were particularly outstanding. However, the Transylvanian sausages were a special treat. The serving for the Chicken Cordon Bleu make two meals for me. I am not sure what the chef did to make the mashed potatoes so good, but they were yummy! I will go back and order a bunch of selections again!
My first time ever tasting hungarian goulash, and wow it was delicious! And we also had the puff pastry with meat and that was delicious too! Everything tasted homemade and felt like they made the food with so much love and care. The lady who cooked the food also gave us a free dessert because she didn’t want us to leave without tasting sweets! She was super sweet to do that for us! And wow the dessert she gave us was delicious- never tasted anything like it too! I learned that it’s called cremesh and got a little lesson from her husband about how it’s a common sweet throughout many countries. 11/10 would come here again and experience new foods!
Delicious is a word that has been overused to describe foods. I think wonderfully flavorful is a better way to describe the foods here. We are lucky to have European Taste here in RVA!
Delicious food, cute little local place.
A super cozy, small restaurant that does a wide variety of comfort dishes that range from the owners Romanian roots to German and Italian family favorites. A small beer and wine list keeps it simple. Homemade desserts round out the menu. I was thoroughly pleased with our experience! Definitely will return! Make sure you go early because it fills up fast, for a good reason!
Fabulous food , amazing owners! We left our house in NC early just to stop for dinner at this Romanian restaurant in Richmond. It was our first time eating here we absolutely enjoyed the food. Everything we ate tasted just like in Romania and the owners were very nice. We will stop again next time we are in Richmond. You try their food, too!
