Our server was very good and we liked her a lot . We were told the wait would be an hour so I was expecting something great . We probably waited longer . My food was not good but I can't speak for everyone else except for maybe the home fries . Ketchup made them taste a little better . The apple cheddar omelet was difficult to describe. The egg part really had no taste and I forced myself to eat most of it . The apple filling consisted of big chunks of apples . Tasteless . I was expecting smaller pieces of apple blended in with the cheese . The checks kept falling out and they truly just didn't taste good . I don't remember much about the cheese so it must have been ok . I know it wasn't hot and really melted . The toast was ok and I put strawberry jam on it . The tea was very good . I would probably consider another visit at a less busy time of day . And I would try to order something that would be less likely to have problems .

My son and I stopped by Dot's as I was visiting this particular part of Richmond and this was the closest restaurant to me. I had no idea Dot's was featured on the food network a while back but was pleasantly surprised. This locale has an interesting story and I encourage anyone visiting to read up on it before or while dining. Loved the older WW2 era photos! Our waitress (Danielle) was very pleasant. As this was my first time here, I asked her for a burger recommendation (they all sounded good). She suggested the Ultimate burger while my son got The Club. The food took about 15-20 minutes as there were several seated customers ahead of us. When the food arrived, the burger looked good but the fries (potato chunks) were overcooked. The burger (smash burger, yum,) was good, cooked as I asked. My son's club look really good to which commented after eating all of it that it had a good flavor.I mentioned to our waitress about the fries to which she apologized, stating she would notify the kitchenAll in all, I feel like Dot's is a five-star location because of the history and TV publicity but I was disappointed by the fries (potato chunks). The kitchen allowing that food to be served to a customer was concerning.Considering how everything else was good, I will definitely return another and recommend to friends.

Excellent comfort food in Richmond. Burgers, sandwiches, salads and soups. The specials menu is seasonal. Appetizers if you just want a bite and a drink. I had the blue cheese burger cooked to order. My friend had the chicken MacArther which was chicken strips, artichokes, onions, and feta cheese over pasta which was superb. There was way too much to eat in one sitting but we took it home for another meal. The staff was attentive and friendly. We’ll definitely be back!

Saw this place in DDD and since we were in Richmond for a soccer tournament we had to go. My wife and I with 3 boys who are 16 years old. Really cool place with a friendly staff. Everyone enjoyed their food. Wasn't really hungry so I got the black bean corn cakes. They were great and would go back just for that. One kid had pasta, the other bbq and my wife and the other kid had burgers. All said the food was great and they would definitely go back again. Check them out

Three for lunch. Black bean burger was too bland. She left half untouched. Grilled chicken sandwich was overcooked and rubbery. Trout sandwich was ok but resulted in lower track issues. Bathroom was tiny!

A recent breakfast at Dot's was unremarkable. We arrived as the doors opened and by the time we left, less than an hour later, the place was almost full. I don't understand why it's so popular - our omelets and sides of potatoes were fine but nothing special, the coffee mediocre, our server unfriendly. I will say, the biscuits were good and the diner had a cute, throw-back vibe. All said, I'm sure there are many other spots that offer a better breakfast.

Great food, small out there area is always full. Eating inside is crowded, so if you are avoiding crowds don't eat inside. Order and take out.We risked it, because they have incredible food. (We are both vaccinated), staff wears masks, keep distance and are still friendly and thoughtful.Order their momosa, you won't be dissapointed, no champagne glass, just a huge ice tea cup, excellent. I can't reccomend a one thing, as everything we ordered was excellent.

Great restaurant. Really good food for what I ordered. Only thing is that my burger feel apart while eating it. It was still amazing and I'll definitely be coming back. Try the nachos....they are insane!

The food was atrocious. I can understand why getting good melon is tough in january. I understand that we ordered a house specialty with eggs and apples that could be odd and wasn't to our liking. But I cannot understand how a diner can screw up the breakfast potatoes so badly. Especially one that's been featured on the food network twice! Burning the pancakes was a bummer as well. Will never go back.

The food was good, as was the service. The only negative is the prices have gone up on some items, but the menu doesn't reflect the increases. I understand that circumstances may justify an increase, but someone needs to mark those on the menus.
