Perfect environment, during the day it’s chill and lounge-y.. at night, it’s FUN. Huge shoutout to Super Dave the chef, you really can’t find a better cook OR person! If something isn’t right or not to your liking, he will go above and beyond to make sure you’re absolutely satisfied. I’ve brought multiple family friends here and all have loved it. The best environment, sweetest and incredibly beautiful bartenders, and great music.. hiiighly recommend!
Where to begin? We had gone to Sidewalk Cafe a few blocks away, but they were on a very long wait. We called District 5 and they said there was no wait for a party of 8, that should have been the first red flag. When we arrived the 4 men in our group were patted down for weapons, no explanation was given for this, despite our obvious surprise. None of the women were searched, not even their bags. We were allowed in after the pat down, despite all 4 of us having pocket knives on us that were not discovered, or ignored during the search. The place is big, with high ceilings, lots of windows, and dozens of tap handles behind the bar. Once seated we started looking at the menu and discussing our choices, but soon after we were greeted we were informed that they were only doing appetizers and the brunch menu. Our server was nice, but it was clear the kitchen was not making her job easy. We started receiving our food staggered, with several minutes between item arriving at the table, and a few items missing. The portion sizes were large, but not cooked well. All the dishes that had poached eggs were served overcooked, as well as the over easy eggs. That part was super disappointing. Some items were very dry as well, like the brisket Mac and cheese. Sadly we won't be returning to District 5. Hopefully they can get the help they need in the kitchen. Keep in mind the restaurant was only at about half capacity.
I am giving two stars. Went for brunch with some friends on a Sunday. Medium crowd wasn’t busy. The food was okay…seemed undercooked and over cooked. Worst part- the restaurant had implemented a “standard” which isn’t holding up equally. We understood that females were not being patted down/frisked for weapons etc, the issue came in that some guys were and some were not. Approached the manager to simply ask why as he mentioned the security/door host forgot and made exceptions for certain people such as regulars. As we sat and dined we seen a number of guys not being frisked/patted down to include non-regulars. We felt discriminated against based on our appearance. Soon after the security/ door host realized we witnessed the non frisking /pat down from a dozen of folks… they looked at us embarrassed and still did not act on maintaining their standard. I’m all for safety and protecting the environment, just simply be fair to all males entering into the establishment.
Overall I really enjoyed their atmosphere, drinks and staff. Went here for a girl's night and loved the chill vibe. Plus drinks came out fast and fries were banging... for just being fries.I think if you're looking for a chill play to just hang with friends, meet new people and dance a little, then this place might be right up your alley!
Thickums burger for brunch. I was so full all day. Mimosas were super gigantic bottles. Good deal, good food.
Great service, amazing brunch and appetizers. Good game day vibe without being too crowded.Was pretty disappointed that we were not advised of the extra fees for a charge card versus cash before paying the bill. Really needs to be made aware before payment is taken.
D5 is the spot! Good vibes pretty peeps that don’t give you hard time. Also all the games and tvs make it a plus! Definitely check the bucket night!
Bar was cool. Ish. The dancing people were getting down. The music sucked.
Just found out today they have a brunch menu. Usually go for lunch/ dinner.. if you like brunch, the spicy chicken and Waffles were delicious.. also love the garlic parm cauliflower wings!! And the mimosas were a hit too.
First time visiting. Cool place. The dogs on the patio can get annoying. Server was super cool and efficient. Didn't eat so I can not rate the food.
