Decided to try this lil hidden restaurant. Its tucked away in a neighborhood that you wouldnt expect to find a restaurant, but.. I have driven past before and I wanted to try them out.I ordered catfish and mac and cheese. The fish was ok, cooked perfectly, just needed more seasoning for me. The Mac and cheese was good, it was creamy, the taste was good, I just wish it were authentic southern Mac n cheese.I hate to complain but it was just- for the price, the portions were very small.I plan to go back anyway and try something else.
We had a great experience working with Deep Run Roadhouse for our wedding day catering. They were easy to work with and it was nice that we could make changes up until a week before our wedding day. Deep Run Roadhouse always got back to us quickly and answered all our questions throughout the planning process. It was also nice that Deep Run Roadhouse had a variety of food we could pick from that wasn't solely BBQ. On our wedding day we were impressed with how efficiently they set up, served, and cleaned up the food. Our guests really enjoyed the food they provided. They also provided us with honeymoon platters which we enjoyed the following night. It was nice to sit and enjoy the food they provided the next day after the craziness of the wedding day. Highly recommend Deep Run Roadhouse for wedding day caterer.
Deep Run Roadhouse crushed the catering game at our wedding! My old high school bud, Kevin, was so helpful with our tasting, initial quote, and really any questions we had along the way! Paul was also super helpful and made sure everything was 100% before and on the day! They were knowledgeable in how much you’d need for your guest count, offer linens/flatware/cutlery, and have awesome prices for their delicious cuisine! They made it so easy for us and everyone was raving about the food and friendliness of the staff on our big day! We will definitely be return customers whether we have a catering event or not! Food is a la cart, so it's easy to get a meal suited to one's taste and diet. I had fried catfish, cornbread, collard greens, and potatoes. Sounds like a lot and it was! I love leftovers and after eating 1 piece catfish, 1/2 cornbread, and tastes of the potatoes and collards, I had enough leftovers for 3 more meals which, by the way, reheated well. The staff is friendly and the cooks know their jobs well. Next time I'll try one of the barbecues.
This is definitely considered a hidden GEM in my book! This was my first time & will NOT be my last visit.As you enter, you will greeted by the host who will take your order. They have a menu filled with food! I couldn't decide what I wanted to order because EVERYTHING looked delectable. Peter did a good job offering suggestions for me since I could not decide as my mouth was watering!!I ordered the (3) piece catfish, (4) smoked fried wings, (6) hush puppies, & thankssssss to Yelp! I ordered the complimentary Mac N Cheese. After ordering, you will receive a buzzer. The buzzer will buzz once your meal is ready. I grabbed my beverage and found a table in the dining room.Once my food was ready, it was piping hot and smelling outrageously delicious! The catfish was hot (MTO) and seasoned well. Their homemade tarter sauce was the best match. I'm happily surprised the Mac N Cheese exceeded my expectations. It was creamy and flavorful. I wish I had a thick layer of cheese on top tho! The hush puppies were good & even better with that HONEY BUTTA!! Good LAWD, mouth dropping! The smoked "fried" wings were good, however they would have been perfect actually fried with that tender crunch. These wings are more smoked than anything.Side note: They have beer for the spirited drinkers.Overall, I would recommend for all those searching for BBQ. This would be a good first date spot. Conversation about finger lickin BBQ would definitely spark here. Parking was easily accessible. Family oriented atmosphere. I will be returning sooooooon!!
My fiancé and I are using Deep Run to cater our wedding in November. As we’re leaving our tasting I’m reminded why we chose them for our special day. Their customer service is incredible alone but their food you simply can’t beat it. We’re not from RVA but we’ll make the drive out here even after our wedding for dinners/lunch. I LOVE Deep Run Roadhouse. I couldn’t of asked for a better restaurant for our catering and it the wedding hasn’t even come yet!!
Had lunch for the first time here today, and will 100% be back! Like, probably in a few days! Haha! The food was amazing, BEST mac and cheese!! Can't wait to try other foods here, but everything we had was amazing. And the staff was awesome! I highly recommend!!!!
OH MY WORD!!! Use Deep Run Roadhouse!!! THEY ARE INCREDIBLE!!!! Seriously they were some of the most professional people we have ever worked with and did an outstanding job at our wedding. They were so prompt in replying to us prior to the wedding and were organized the entire time. I have never worked with a caterer that did such an awesome job all around. The food was probably some of the best food we’ve ever had and our guests only had great things to say about it! You will not regret using them.
I went to Deep Run BBQ last week and, it was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. I ordered the bourbon sauce chicken wings and I have to say, they were the best wings I’ve ever had. Much better than restaurants that specialize in chicken wings. It came with a sauce to dip the wings. I usually like blue cheese to dip the wings, but this sauce was better. I had collard greens and cornbread as my sides and they were both great. I will be going back to Deep Run soon!
While I have never eaten at this place, I can definitely attest to their great service and kind staff. I was looking at quotes for wedding catering and I came across these guys. Their prices per person were very affordable and modest for what you get if you get a buffet style. Unfortunately, our wedding venue was too far for them to travel.I was disappointed because I thought they were a great deal, but I think what made this experience a great one in my book was that they were willing to give us helpful advice and tips when it came to researching caterers and catering as it pertained to wedding planning. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for catering services. They are very honest, take the time to answer any questions, their prices are very affordable, and I have no doubt they would give great service if you chose them for your catering needs. Kevin and Paul are very kind people. I will definitely stop by here to eat if I'm ever in the Richmond area.
