I usually keep my expectations low at fast food. But I was really surprised here! It was late at night, which is virtually impossible to get good fast food service these days because of some throwaway excuse like"staffing." This cook out proved all that to be excuse making. They somehow manage to be fully staffed. It's not like there's some separate pool of applicants for cook out employees. They have the same challenges every other chain has. And the employees were fast, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly! Nobody grunting or mumbling at me and throwing my food at me without bothering to say a word to me. And the food was good too. Completely blown away. It's my new go-to spot when I visit the South.

If you've been to one cook out you've pretty much been to them all. If you haven't been to cook out, you can expect terrible drive thru speakers and a somewhat stressful ordering process if the place is at all busy. Your food will be of average quality, you could probably do better at home no matter what level of culinary skill you possess. You will have access to a huge menu of shake flavors, which are honestly pretty delicious. Prices are super low, and if you go in expecting really okay food you'll be pleased. If you're feeling lazy and just sustenance or a shake, go for it.

One of the only places on the East End where the food is usually what it's supposed to be... Nuggets and Polynesian sauce *period *Milkshakes a Lil to thick for a straw but good at the same time... quick and good customer service...4 stars til they add an entrance from Laburnum (line is usually around the building so you're likely to have to keep moving back and forth to let people out of the shopping center)

I love your bbq sandwich and would love to visit more often but I really wish you would reopen your inside dining. My last visit resulted in me having to clean spilled Cole slaw and bbq out of my car. Please allow inside dining again

Disappointed! A lot of restaurants open for dine in.Cook out was my top 5 favorite eating places.Going to stop going to cook out. Very disappointed cook out doesn't open lobby for dine in.

Ordered cheese fries and got a blob of fries, w just a touch of cheese ? ? whoever did this, hmu i just wanna talk lmaooo

Food was mediocre this trip. Normally out stop coming home from VCU is hot and tasty. This time wasn't so busy and yet the items were barely warm.

I usually get the cheese quesadillas, but sometimes they add chicken which is not cool, because I do not eat meat!! But the last two (2) orders I've had of the cheese quesadillas the cheese in the middle was uncooked and the food seemed to smell and taste of at least one of new workers, that have recently served me. Not the same team, as even early as 6 months ago. I know times are trying for everyone, but if someone can smell and seemingly taste the smell of an employee, it's time for the HR hygiene course, that's usually discussed before employees go to the food handlers classes, to get their food handlers cards, and before or after all of the other HR, company and OSHA classes are completed by new hires. But perhaps even the food handlers card is no longer a thing any more? I know Williamsburg has had it's fair share of food poisoning cases, and I know as an ex-restaurant employee (even as a hostess, dishwasher or busboy/girl) we all had to have our food handlers cards, before we worked in the restaurant or with guests. Perhaps there is no health inspection department in the city of Williamsburg or James City County any more?

pretty good food at a reasonable price but i will say the staff could gain from a lot more training in customer relations

Best barbecue ever!!!! Melts in your mouth!!! Portions are extremely generous, and endless supply of any fresh, handmade tasting milkshake u could possibly want!!!
