A great Richmond spot to grab a beer, get a dog and/or burger. Not a huge place but worth a visit...or two! Awesome hot dogs, catch a game on one of the screens. It's always a go to for me.
Excellent neighborhood joint with amazing dogs. I had the coney island and the brat dog if you are in Richmond, VA do yourself a favor and go visit these guys!
The dogs are usually good but I really don't like walking uo, seeing someone smoking outside and finding out that person is the cook
If you want a dog this is the place. I ordered the Richmond dog, Carolina dog, corn dogs(12), the Rocky Top burger, and cheese fries. My partner ordered the Honolulu dog, Cincinnati chili dog, and tots. The Carolina dog came with the freshest slaw on top I've ever eaten at a restaurant. You can tell everything was cooked on a searing hot flat top grill. I occasionally saw flames shooting up . The dogs and burger had just the right amount of char to add flavor and everything was homemade and cooked to the highest quality. My favorite was all around the homemade dogs especially the corn dogs and batter. The cheese fries were my least favorite as they were a little soggy. You won't find better dogs though, I'm sure of it. This is why people live in Richmond! Picture is the Rocky Top burger (I couldn't finish lol), the corn dogs, and cheese fries.
We stopped in for a 'snack' and ended up getting stuffed! You can get 2 dogs and 2 sides for ~$10. The dogs have a nice crisp snap when you bite into them. The bratwurst was also excellent. They pile on the sides. I mean pile. We got onion rings and fries as the 2 sides and someone else got the tater tots. It was carb overload! Someone else also ordered some wings which were flavorful and meaty. I pitcher of Modello beer was $9. We had a great time watching the game at the bar and it didn't break the bank. I'd go back to try other dogs.
Not a very family friendly place. The bartender with the brown beard mouth is about as filthy as a public restrooms toilet seat in a gas station. Overall, he’s more concerned with one on one conversations with friends or maybe loyal patrons then paying customers. Maybe that is the culture of the business— foul mouth restaurant that you can’t take family with you in with a bartender that’s not attentive to all guest. Interesting business model. Weekly business traveler here that stays at the hotel next door. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to come backIf he’s present, not even my team.
So glad we went here! Richmond Dogs and Onion rings!!! Others had a Boston Dog, Cheese Burger, and Cheese Tots Everything was great including the cool little place it's in. If we were here longer we would be back again. Until next time City Dogs!
Love city dogs! Always a great experience when going there to grab something to eat! The service is amazing & the employees are very kind. I first went to city dogs in 2015 & have been going ever since. I have visited both locations in Richmond & both locations are great. City dogs gives me a feeling of home, comfort, & delicious food! Always a great time when going to city dogs.
Excellent food! Simply delicious! Fresh ingredients! They need to sell their dogs to grocery stores, so that I can purchase them to make at home. They have the best hotdogs in Richmond. We were wishing that we’d ordered more. Lol…This place represents everything that is good about restaurant owners, staff, etc…that take pride in providing quality food at affordable prices, with customer satisfaction being the reason for perfecting your craft. I can tell that everything was made with love, and I ordered via a third party app for delivery. Everything was packaged safe and correctly. I was so impressed. Everything was perfect. I will definitely order again.
