The place is nice , it’s located along main ave.We ordered Chicken and Beef Fajitas and I can say chicken taste way better .The free nachos is good! Lovit!The chicken soup is with avocado and rice and it taste normal. Nothing special .The waiter are very accommodating, courteous and really nice .
I grew up eating and loving Mexican food. It’s always a joy to find a place like the Cocina with authentic home style cooking, friendly, personal service and super-relaxed atmosphere. Prices were reasonable, portions generous and presentation on the plate done with care. I had a trio of enchiladas—beef,chicken and cheese—each with a proper sauce, well seasoned and served hot—not steam table food. Wish I could have sampled much more of the menu.

We visited this restaurant when we were staying in downtown Richmond in early April 2022. I'm giving 3 stars because the food was good but our server was actually one of the bartenders and couldn't keep up with serving our table and making drinks. We had to ask other servers to bring us things and had to wait a while before getting our food. We were seated fairly quickly but the wait to order, get your food, and get the bill was quite long. Overall the food was good....we know this is mostly an issue with being short of staff so I still wanted to be fair.
Had lunch with coworkers here. It was loud. The table was wobbly. The waitress kept taking our half full chip basket and replacing it with a full one. The Pollo Feliz was not happy. It had generally no flavor to the chicken or the vegetables. The rice was watery and the beans were watery. Not sure I would try this again given the large number of restaurants in the area.
My girlfriend and I came here for lunch on a Saturday morning and we gotta say, this place is fantastic! There are plenty of latino style restaurants in the area but the way I look at it, each place has their own style and rhythm. The service was quick,easy, comfortable, and inviting. I was feeling for some chicken soup and was not disappointed! My girlfriend got the vegetarian tacos and they were delicious too! You get a nice amount of chips, salsa, and a white sauce that is similar to ranch when you sit. The atmosphere is nice with tall ceilings and with big tv's by the bar. I have 2 tiny concerns which I feel don't warrant a deduction of a star. Starting off with the good old richmond parking. It's all street parking near there, on an incline so be prepared for that. Next, the QR code that was at each table was too big. The QR code for some reason didn't read immediately when trying to scan it. But other than that, I will be returning to this great spot! This was a short walk from our hotel and the ants why we chose it. After walking in, enjoying the food and the cheerful staff, and having a GREAT meal, I would drive from other lodging for the experience. Very clean. Atmosphere was great as well.
Great environment and great food! Got a shrimp burrito and it was very tasty.
