Love every night at Chez Max. Brian, Erika, all the staff are fabulous and Skipp and his team are the best! Great food, great atmosphere. Simply the best.

Chez Max was recommended to us by a family member. We loved the atmosphere which was very welcoming. We love tablecloths. Our waiter was Oliver and he was very friendly and excellent. He gave us time between each course to talk and digest. We never felt rushed. My husband loved the Dover sole. I have never seen it on a menu as it's imported from England. I had the lamb lollipops which were cooked to perfection. The couple next to us had friends come to their table and there was lots of chatter, which included us. It was a delightful addition to talk to other couples our age and exchange niceties. This is now our favorite restaurant in the Richmond area. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

The knowledge of the waiter regarding food and wine is truly superb. We also appreciated the owner personally stopping by our table to converse and ensure our dining experience was nothing less than beyond perfect!
My Daughter's Birthday Dinner - She also was married at this particular place. She was thrilled that I thought of Chez Max for this special occasion and so was her husband. the food here is consistently excellent. they have a very focused menu. only five or six entrees and a special or two, but everything they do is first rate. Their wine list is one of the best in Richmond and the owner is smart enough to only add a relatively small mark up to the wine. the result is the list has a number of outstanding wines at exceptional values.
The chef prepared a delicious vegetarian meal for me. Yes, a delicious vegetarian meal in a French restaurant. SO GOOD. I would return in a heartbeat. Service was fast but not at all intrusive. Everything, even the bread, was fantastic.
This restaurant is an bit of a little known gem. As I ate I made my next reservation for 2 weeks out. amazing food old school feel.
A night at Chez Max is a great experience. The staff is attentive and very knowledgeable. Oliver is normally my guide and his knowledge of food, wine, and champagne is extensive. The owner has a great selection of wine and good champagnes to choose from. In addition Erica can mix up a fantastic drink with or without alcohol. Highly recommend Chez Max.
