Good Afternoon! Came by Cheddar Jackson for lunch. I ordered a Smoked Robinson, and my partner had a Fat Boy Basquiat. They serve Boylan Soda Products, and Mexican Coca Cola as well. The Smoked Robinson had Gouda and Country Ham, it was lighter on the stomach than the Roast Beef and Cheese of the Basquiat. I didn’t taste much of the Hot Honey Dijon sauce on the Smoked Robinson. The Fat Boy Basquiat was very good we opted to get it with red onion as well which gave it a bit more flavor with the Roast Beef, Cheese, and Horse Radish Sauce. My favorite part was the way the bread was handled, it wasn’t over saturated in garlic butter or a version of Texas toast. It was slightly brushed buttered and placed in a panini press. With our orders we also got pasta salad, a blueberry muffin, and a chocolate chip cookie. All of which were good and a nice treat. Now the part of this experience that wasn’t so pleasant, was the wait and the music. The store has a vibe of a retro diner with a modern twist, but there is very limited seating. The music coming right out over customers is Reggae, but not just any Reggae like some pretty vulgar stuff. Which is fine in your own time, but when you are waiting for food, hearing a song about personal interaction with female genitalia doesn’t help with a person’s appetite. No where in the entirety of the store do I see island inspired or in the menu. Bless the chef’s heart, because you can tell she puts love in every sandwich but the speed of the kitchen is on island time. The sense of urgency isn’t there until your order is literally the only thing left.

Great sandwiches and service! We really appreciated that they had several quality vegetarian and vegan options! Ours were delicious, but don't make the same mistake I did - I did not opt for soup to dip my sandwich in. My wife did, and that was definitely the right call.

Visiting family in the Richmond area recently and after a day of museums and sights, we found an incredible meal at Cheddar Jackson. The Duval Sisters grilled cheese with the tomato soup dip was one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches I have had anywhere in the world - and I have been to all 7 continents so that is saying something. The tomato soup was superb - plus it was vegan. Everyone enjoyed their meal as well as the cookies. There is a wonderful selection of food for everyone including those who eat vegetarian and vegan. We chatted with the owner and learned about who he named each of the sandwiches for and why. Highly recommend. There is limited seating available but take out is an option. Thanks for the great memory and meal.

Grilled cheese sammies are delicious, well priced, accompanying tomato soup is tasty and just the right amount for dipping.

I stopped here on a food break during a road trip & wasn’t expecting to be as satisfied as I was!! The sandwiches are actually quite large and extremely tasty + the shrimp pasta salad was fresh and equally delicious. The staff was also super friendly. I will definitely visit this business again when I’m in the Richmond area!

Was visiting RVA recently for work and this place is a hidden gem. They offer a range of delicious panini and I loved the three I tried. The staff was courteous, diligent and speedy when our entire work group returned for seconds.Keep it up, Cheddar JacksonCrunchy cheezy heavenly pillows.

This place rules. Among the most perfectly crafted paninis I’ve ever had. And like - I am not a tomato soup guy but their tomato soup is outstanding!

was craving soup recently and ordered through door dash. I hadn't ever heard of this place but man am I glad I found it!! my son and I both ordered the broccoli cheddar soup. I had the sandwich with brie and apples (Jesse maybe) he had the ham sandwich. the soup was incredible, clearly made from scratch and by far the best I've ever had. both sandwiches were equally amazing as well! highly recommend this place and I'll definitely be back!

I was at Cheddar Jackson on a very cold Saturday afternoon, January 29, 2022. I ordered the cab cheddar bisque. The cost was $9.00, which I thought was a bit much for soup. At any rate, I was hugely disappointed. Whatever they served me was water thin with barely the taste of crabmeat or cheddar as I recall. Maybe they were having a bad day. Such a shame since virtually everything else we ate during our Richmond weekend was excellent from Friday through Sunday.

I cannot speak highly enough of Cheddar Jackson’s! I am always very thankful for their delicious and nutritious food. I am forever grateful to their team!
